I had such an amazing birthday yesterday. I hung out in a small crowd with 6 of my friends from my undergrad college who found themselves in NYC. Two of them surprised me. I didn't even know they were in town. They met up with later.
Anyway, we were going to the Brooklyn Bowl as recommended, but it opened at 6 and we wanted to get started earlier. Me and P. who was staying at my house met up with R at Grand Central. First we were at this Latin place in Williamsburg over by Borinquen Pl., then we went to Barcade and geeked out on Rampage, Tetris, Arkanoid, Ghosts N Goblins, Donkey Kong, Ms. Pac-Man, etc.
Then we headed over for some grub at Foodswings - a vegan fast food joint. We made fun of all the hipsters there. We met up with my friend E. there But the food is great. My friend P. was reluctant about going there because he's a die-hard meat eater, but he was even won over, all though he was wondering what's in the fake meat that made it so genuine tasting. I made a joke about Soylent Green.
After that we headed up to Cheap Shots in the East Village and met up with M. and B. and drank and hung out. Then we went to this quiet bar between Ave. A and B. in Alphabet City and played a few games of pool. Then M. and B. and R. had to go, so me, P., and E. went to the McDonalds to get coffee and food (I only got coffee) and then we went to Abigail Cafe and Wine Bar where we met up with L. It was a great nightcap and a low-key vibe. It's on Classon and St. John's and you should check it out. And then E. drove me home. It was great to party for 10 hours in a row. Made the feelings of aging at 26 become less painful.
