How many middle men?

At an early point in my adolescence I developed the taste for webcams and home-made porn. In the early 2000s the mechanisms for a model monetizing their audience more directly didn't exist, so most of the people exposing themselves on webcams or producing sex-tapes did so out of personal interest and hobby. Some of these hobbyists acquired and shared these videos for the social status it gave them in online communities, but it cost them their time and resources to achieve that status.
Eventually the internet reached a point where models could interact directly with their audience and cultivate a relationship or rapport. While the potential was for this new phenomena to revolutionize adult entertainment, the corporations, instead, found news ways of middling themselves in to that relationship. Whether it's a subscription media feed, or a live webcam show, the status quo is faceless corporations taking an undue cut of every transaction.

I propose that the advent of cryptocurrencies likewise creates a new opportunity to revolutionize adult entertainment and dampen the control of unproductive middle men. I understand the service provided by these companies in the form of internet infrastructure, but those costs can be addressed in a manner that doesn't impugn the models for their success. Much more to explore here.
