Back in the day, 10+ years ago, I considered myself a writer. I haven't had the urge to write now in eons. Years. Last night, I just kept thinking about Drew and this whirlwind romance we've been having, and I was itching to write. So I grabbed my notebook, laid down in bed, and started writing. This is the result.
With a simple email, you began your trail of destruction. Your Confidence stormed my bridges. You vaporized my turrets with your Genius. Your Wit annihilated my gates, my guards thwarted by your alluring Smile. Your Tenderness wrecked my inner walls entirely. You sent in the big guns to finish the search. Honesty, Respect, and Adoration stomped down my halls, kicking in doors, looking for me in every corner. Then you dispatched the commander. Love knew exactly where to find me. Into my throne room he came, divinely beautiful and strong. There I sat alone, the enormity of my sovereignty dwarfing my frame. Your troops followed him in, flanking us on all sides. It had all happened so quickly, I was terrified- but only for a moment. My truth washed over me. I realized this is what I'd been waiting for my entire life. I didn't want Romeo outside my castle, calling my name. I didn't want someone imagining what I was like from afar. I needed someone to discover me. I needed someone to prove they were worthy. I stood up, opened my arms, and embraced Love, silently vowing to never let go. As I held him, I viewed the wreckage around us. Never had my palace been more beautiful.
He said it made him tear up. I'm rather proud of it myself. Twenty minutes worth of writing and it's not half bad!
