Just getting a feel...

So I am a third year college student in Chicago. And instead of working a paying job, I volunteer at the Center on Halsted. A LGBTQA community center in Boystown. And after working there for almost a year, I have seen no progress in the campaign for equal rights. I have seen the new in vouge styles (heinous), but no new plans to insure my rights as an American citizen. I joined the center to be part of the "revolution." But no apparently the rest of the gay community is fine being denied essential rights. Is anyone else as frustrated infuriated by the apathy of the queer community?
