Though it is true that I am a big fan of the random moments in life, I was really surprised by what happened at work tonight. A young lady placed her order and drove around to the window. But when I told her the total she responded with "Hey, if somebody cheated on you three times what would you do?" She was a very nice looking young woman in her early-to-mid 20s. She was smiling as she asked me the question but I could see that look of confusion on her face...as if she was repeatedly asking herself 'what should I do?' I simply and honestly said "I would break up with 'em." So there in the drive-thru window she explained her situation to me in greater detail. I could hear in her voice that she had been crying. Apparently, this guy has cheated on her 3 times with 3 three different chicks and she has continued to give him more chances. But *in her own words* it must be something about this girl cause he just can't seem to leave her alone.
At this point I had to turn and cash out the order because my eyes began to tear up. The girl the guy had cheated with knew they are in a relationship and has boyfriend herself. Anyway, she went on to say that her and a few friends spray painted the girls' car (I laughed). After a good 8 minutes of talking, I told her "I don't know this guy personally but it seems like you'd be much better off without him. You say that he can't seem to leave this other girl alone, and, even if he did, what's to stop him from going after another girl." I told her that she was a good person for trying to stick with him and giving him another chance but she had to realize that the chances of him stopping now were extremely slim. She said her friends had said the same but she wanted an outside opinion. Wherever she is now I wish her the best and hope I helped a little. I would never think I would be engaged in such a deeply personal conversation with a complete stranger.
