So - as i was putting my house back together i figured it would be a good time to re-design the place.
the floors are the original yellow pine floors from 1934 and it was filled with anitques and paintings.
as i thought about it i figured i would ebonize the floors/stain them black, paint the walls white with white trim and paint the ceilings pale blue and get some modern, sleek looking white leather furniture.
just as i was finishing up the re-design i had a phone call from the italian lady that used to live around the corner - a widow with the boy i have known for ten years and who i mentored. they moved away a couple years ago and she called to tell me she was moving back to michigan and could she please rent my house when i went back to texas?
wow. talk about timing. i said 'sure! absolutely".
this woman is OCD about cleaning. if there isn't anything to clean, she will dirty something so she can clean it. she loves to take care of flower beds and keeps her lawn as immaculate as she does her house.
so i was happy to rent it to her.
however...she had to move in before my return to texas. so i had to scramble to get the place emptied out so she could move in this past friday.
so she is at the cottage happily cleaning away and doing lawn and garden work.
i know she will take excellent care of the place which is great. but i had resigned myself to just leaving it empty and having a get-away place. oh well. there are lots of places i can go in the summers.
so out of the clear blue sky i now have my cottage rented and won't have to worry about it.
