Stolen images.

Hello, friends - I hope you're all well. In the last two weeks or so, pictures from my LPSG gallery have been posted all over the internet. Some private images have also appeared online. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of this right away. I've spent a lot of time trying to deal with this problem. As far as I can tell, all the private images have now been removed - which was my main concern. Some of the LPSG pictures remain. I was confused about the 'leak' of the private images for a while, but without naming anyone, I knew that very few people had access to those images. I confronted the most obvious suspect and as expected, they had posted the images online several months ago. I can't say I'm happy about that, but it didn't cause any problems until two weeks ago - when the pictures were stolen (for the second time). As a result, I've received several messages regarding my 'internet antics'. Using my pictures, someone has been trolling all over the internet.

The person/people that stole them always described the 'anonymous' man in the pictures as arrogant and cocky etc. Or, they would be uploaded by someone named 'hugeginormousman' or something similar. I suspect it's more than one person responsible, but I doubt I'll ever know for sure. I want to let you all know that if someone using my pictures on another site is behaving in a cocky manner, making racist comparisons, using homophobic and sexist language or generally being nasty - it isn't me. I don't know if they were trying to portray me in a negative way, or just like to troll using my pictures - but they've certainly made an effort to saturate forums and image sites with their rubbish.

Unfortunately, as a result of that saturation and the nature of the internet - I doubt that I've found every image. The person that originally posted the images, used a Tumblr blog - named after their nickname for me. They wanted to 'share me with the world'. As a result, hundreds of blogs on Tumblr have at least one of my images, re-blogged from the original blog that was created as a misguided tribute. I'm now in control of that blog. I considered deleting the images from there, but the hundreds of re-blogged images would still remain. By remaining in control of the 'source' blog, I'll be able to see where the pictures are posted and confirm that the pictures there belong to ManofThunder and no-one else. However, I've been careful to remove or disguise all the private images. Although it's pretty harmless now, I won't publicly name or link to the blog - I might tell a few people via PM.

If you think you've seen one of my pictures (from LPSG or not) somewhere online, please let me know. Most of you wouldn't be able to identify the private images, but if you have any suspicions - feel free to send me a PM. Thank you. ManofThunder, signing out.

too bad the didn't put something in the photo hard remove by photoshop.some sort of watermark or background image.they still post, but atleast you frack up their good time

So sorry to hear about that, bud. This is one of the things that makes me leery about posting face or genital pics. Hate to see myself appearing elsewhere on the Net.

I am so glad to hear that you have been able to at least get some control over things.

With what you have learned from this unfortunate experience, do you have any suggestions for the rest of us?

Sorry Bro! It is hurtful to know that you can' t share something's with people. I hope all is well.

A watermark is useful for proving that an image is yours, making it easier to get it removed from a blog etc. However, some of my older pictures with 'LPSG' written in the corner were still posted elsewhere. Even pictures with centred, extremely intrusive watermarks are stolen - so watermarking isn't a magical solution. It just proves ownership and makes the removal process swifter. Most people are nice enough to remove images without any fuss, anyway.

Don't assume that everyone is a thief. Not everyone wants to steal your pictures. Frankly, this only became a problem because someone close to me decided to share my pictures on Tumblr in the first place. For years, I've had my public album posted here with no issues. Even with a public album, to view a gallery here, you need to be a member. To view full-size pictures, you need to be a gold member. That's more than enough to deter any picture thieves. They're more interested in places like Tumblr, where images are publicly viewable and easy to take.

Just use your common sense and make sure you're comfortable with everything you post. If you have private images on your computer, consider putting them in a password protected folder - just in case.

ah, man. the situation and the person responsible for it are uber-suck-a-butts.

ya too awesome of a dude to be the on the bad end of such ookery.

*hugs*

I really feel bad for what happened to you.

A year or two ago I used to be active on Tumblr, here, and Reddit. Somewhere along the way I acquired some form of fanfare on LPSG and the images I had posted here began to show up elsewhere like wildfire. That progressed until someone I knew put two and two together and tried to make my life difficult via my adult material. At that point I terminated everything including my account here. I've yet to restart my own Tumblr, but I am active here and on a few other dark corners of the web.

The tough part, as voiced by others, is coming to grips with the fact that once something is on the net, it is there for good.
