Being on this site, we kinda see it all. A 8" guy says he's average and wants to be hung. A 5" guy thinks he's small and only sees big guys in porn. A 6" girth owner can't get laid because someone made a stupid comment. So, what is the deal with "average" anyways?
Average or mean can be two things: arithmetic or geometric. Arithmetic mean is adding up all of the numbers, in this case, sizes, and dividing by the number of numbers (or sizes). If you have a collection of 1000 sizes obtained from consenting men (confirmed of course by in-person standardized measurements) you add them up and divide by 1000. That would calculation would be the arithmetic mean. Geometric mean is plotting out all of the numbers/sizes on a graph and looking at the shape of the graph and finding the center-most point of the graph. That would be the geometric mean. We need to be clear what mean we are talking about when discussing size means. Geometric mean can be vastly different from arithmetic mean.
Now, let's get down to a few things about what could affect averages:
1) skewed perceptions which includes manipulated media (Photoshop, camera tricks)
2) disingenuous exclusions of portions of male populations - actively looking for big dick skews towards concentrating big dicks in one place - this is true with LPSG I'm that it concentrates big dicks into a community thus giving the illusion that they are more prevalent
3) basing your view of averages on nudism and displays of confidence (smaller sized men are often shamed into staying covered, or they feel they can't be nude because of whatever society tells them)
