I haven’t been consistent with my bathmate for several weeks due to an injury but have been back at it this week. 3rd consecutive night in a row.

30 min session total 🟰 (5 min on, 5 min off) x 3.

Tonight, after my last pump, these appeared. After over a year of pumping, this has never happened. No way I’m popping that…

Any clues as to what to do? I should probably keep off the Bathmate for a night or two.

He. I've already had this once. I used a clean needle to pierce them. And it went away on its own within a few days.

Wait more than a night or two. Three days is never long enough; ten days is always long enough.

From experience I've learned to count the days until the blister disappears, then wait that many more days before pumping again. So if it took 3 days for a blister to disappear, I learned to wait another 3 days.

Perhaps it doesn't really need as long as that, but getting a second blister in the same place can take a lot longer to heal than the first. It's better to wait too long than not-long-enough.

I got my first big blister on 3 January 1999. I know the exact date because I was taking pictures of an exciting session with my brand new toys from NW Pump Works when it was interrupted by this colossal blister...

And it's a reminder that blisters are totally unnecessary. You don't need anywhere near that much vacuum to get good results.

In The Vacuum Pumper's Handbook, writer Gary Griffin says it really doesn't take much vacuum. Once you've reached the sweet spot, more vacuum will only cause more discomfort, more risk of blisters, and accumulated skin-darkening.

If you get a blister, immediately quit pumping and remind yourself to cut back the intensity next time...and definitely abstain until the blister has been gone for a few days.

Does he recommend a specific pressure level?

You have to pierce those blisters. Apply an antibiotic cream and wait till it heals. Do not pump again until it heals. Sometimes if the skin of the blisters fall apart it hurts as hell. Peeing is hell and taking a shower hurts so much. Just be careful and don’t exceed the pressure. Has happened to me a lot of times. But just keep pumping.

Blisters are a result of overdoing your vacuum session. They are not acceptable. Common, but unacceptable. Avoid piercing them, and let them subside on their own. Triple antibiotic ointment can help prevent scarring.
I wouldn't pierce them.

i 2nd the do not pop them!!!!! popping them makes the risk for infection go up exponentially. too much heat plus high pressure will bring on blisters when just high pressure wouldn't have. watch the heat and the pressure.
