Chance To Try A Brazilian Wax…

As I was doom scrolling Instagram yesterday, an ad popped up for me offering a free men’s Brazilian Wax service at my local European Wax Center. From what I can tell, this is a new service they’re offering. All of the verbiage in the ad is along the lines of “helping their experts practice and hone their craft”. Curiosity got the better for me, of course I signed up…it’s free, no obligation. They’ll be in contact to schedule my appointment soon.

Waxing is 100% new for me. For grooming, I usually trim my bush with a 1 or 2 guard on a monthly-ish basis and then shave my scrotum, shaft, taint, and any perimeter hairs to clean it up as needed, at least weekly. My understanding of a Brazilian is that all of the above will be removed, plus maybe up the ass crack? Definitions don’t seem to be too standardized after a quick google search.

What are your experiences with pubic waxing? For those that do it or have done it, do you prefer it as a method of grooming over stuff you can do at home? I usually don’t go fully smooth, but I’m willing to do it now because I’m so curious and it’s a free service. What’s the pain like? The recovery process? What prep did you do? How the hell do they wax your scrotum???

Ha, i got served the same ad. I've been waxed a few times before, only taken everything off once (didn't like the look) usually leave the up top just trimmed. Yes they do your ass, if you keep the up top they will do your shaft and balls too. For your sac, they just pull the skin tight. It hurts obviously, but after the first time I don't even flinch. You'll be red and irritated that day, but afterward its fine.

I do sugaring which is similar to waxing, though I've been told less painful. He does my entire back, butt and crack, the taint area, scrotum and base of my penis. I trim my bush myself. The most sensitive area is at the base of the penis. The scrotum is a big ouch but after the first one or two pulls you get past it. The only area I dread is the base of my penis because it hurts like a bastard. Now, having said that, I'm back on his table every five weeks so you just learn to deal with it. Since it's a guy I had a much easier time getting in those very vulnerable positions.
When I was looking into waxing/sugaring the issue I had was in finding someone who would do a male's private area. I found that all the spas would do my back but nothing below the belt. The places around here were immovable on the issue so I feel like I got lucky when I found a guy that did sugaring.
Currently I'm trying laser hair removal. Although it's a woman she's very laid back and I've never felt odd or uncomfortable because you're basically in the lithotomy position (think female Pap smear and stirrups). So far I like the results of the laser procedure. It's about 2k for six sessions which they say is enough for permanent results.
Here in OKC, sugaring costs me $120 per session and it has to be repeated (for me) every five weeks so the costs add up.
Finally, I use numbing cream before going in for a session. My doctor prescribed a 10% lidocaine cream that I use on my scrotum and on the base of the penis. You can find less strong creams on Amazon.
The doctor's office where I get laser removal done has a 28% lidocaine cream and it does a fantastic job and makes the procedure nearly painless.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I get a “bro”zillian every 6-7 weeks and have been for the past 6 years. A gal pal of mine recommended her aesthetician to me in 2014 and have been going to her ever since. I was incredibly nervous the first time and it did indeed hurt. You have chicken flesh for the first few days after the initial waxing but it does calm down afterward. After having so many now, the only area that still really hurts is right at the base of the penis/pubic bone area.

I have also been getting the same ads from EWC on Facebook and Instagram, however I don’t know much about the company. What I do know is that I am not sure I would want some green aesthetician waxing my goods as a guinea pig project. I understand they all have to start somewhere. I do find it strange however that they have changed their staunch stance on offering male Brazilians… I remember last year during lockdown it had been about 6 months from my last wax and I was down in Houston for work and since Texas was pretty much opened up, I decided to get one down there. Super difficult to find a salon that would offer those services. One salon I found only offered them on Mondays, haha.

The salon in Texas used hard wax (which is similar to sugaring) where they roll it on and peel it off whereas my waxer uses the standard wax and strips. I did find the hard wax to be a more painless experience however it took a little bit longer - I’m sure it’s also because I had a jungle between my legs rather than my standard 6 week gap.

Word of advice, when you do go, make sure you have hair for them to wax… otherwise they may pull out the tweezers which hurts going one by one. Invest in a very good loofa for exfoliating and preventing in grown hairs.
