I've been trying to slowly gain lean mass for a while now, but it just hasn't really been working out. I decided to do a bulk, but now I feel like I'm gaining more fluff than muscle. I'm about a month and a half into the bulk now.

How much longer should I trust that this is going to work out?

When should I pump the breaks a bit?

If you're bulking, you want to increase your energy intake but what you want the most is getting more protein!
You can be in a 10 000 Calorie excess, if you don't have enough protein, you won't build enough muscle!

If you feel you're increasing your amount of fat instead of muscle, you should keep track of your body fat percentage, if it gets too high then you should have some adjustments in your diet until you have the right balance of muscle building/fat storing.

Bulking/cutting should be temporary during your training, so unless you plan on being Schwarzy your bulking period shouldn't last longer than 6 months depending on how you feel about the results you got.
