So I just joined a bunch of dating apps about a month ago because I wanted to finally put myself out there more. Just a week into it, I met up with someone and it was AMAZING. Far exceeded my expectations but he wasn't from here so sadly it was never going to be long term. After that, I felt hopeful that dating websites really were legit. But now since, I'm just met with a bunch of weird flaky guys who are really confusing me. I'm never the one to initiate the conversation so when I get a message, I have to assume they're at least a little interested? Especially when they say they are? They say I'm beautiful and all that and after talking for a little bit, I tell them that I'm excited to meet them and they say they are too. But then a day or more goes by and they are suddenly missing from my chat log meaning they either blocked or unmatched me. I just don't understand because it's been a pattern of this constantly happening. There are some where I understand it could have been that it's because I didn't want to send them nudes. But at the same time, why continue the conversation and act like you're interested? But most of the other times, they seem completely engaged and then just drop me. I think a factor that goes into it as well is that I'm from Hawaii. So a lot of the guys who message me are from another island but I tell them that I'm going to be visiting in a few days and they are down for it....then the same thing happens. I'm also a transwoman but I always disclose this right away even though I don't need to because it clearly says it on all my profiles and they always say they're cool with it. Can someone please explain this to me? I feel so defeated lol. I just want to meet a nice guy to have fun with. I'm also clear that I'm ok with hooking up which further confuses me to why they randomly change their mind.

Just so you know that those dating apps want you to stay on the app for as long as possible. That’s how they make their money from you and from advertisers. So they have created bots and fake profiles to string people along and to keep them on the app for as long as possible. Hence, they vanished when you suggested to meet up in real life because they don’t exist/ or are fake profiles.
