Recently when I defended my fluid orientation in a forum here on LPSG, my post was deleted by the moderators

I noticed that persons with a fluid orientation are discriminated more and more, because people prefer to label persons as gay, bi or lesbian.

I see this happen more and more in the society. What is your opinion about this?

Pardon my obviously stupid question. But could you explain what you mean by fluid? I admit that I'm not not the best at the nomenclature, but I'm trying! Do you mean like gender based fluidity or being sexually attracted to different things over time?

Fluid means that your gender is not fixed. First people thought that they were born as a gay, bisexual or lesbian. At a certain moment, someone is coming out as one of these genders. However, New researches showed that people are not fixed like this. Your sexual preferences have been developed by different factors. That is why many started to experiment. Nowadays you see that certain influencers come out at bisexual. In reality most of them are in an experimental phase and later on when they grow older, they often will form a hetero family. Or people have gayfeelings but don't recognize themselves like this, so they call themselves bisexuals.

This is good to understand, becauze labeling persons can have consequences.

Yeah I've never liked labels to be honest. I don't think most people do it maliciously though, I think people look for the simplest and easiest explanation even though it may be imprecise. Nuance and context are lost on so many people.

Yes, But I was a bit surprised. In a discussion a person tried to contradict with a certain percentage but without any source. I reacted on it and then suddenly my posts were deleted. It seems that I was censored and I think because I explained that framing is 1990s thinking and is not in line with the latest scientific researches. And then my thread was deleted by the moderators
