A lot of websites say dont keep a cock ring on for more than 30mins after putting it on when you are not hard. Is this really true, has anyone kept it on for more than 30mins and what happened ?

I think this really depends on how much blood flow the ring may or may not be restricting. If there is significant restriction of blood flow, I think the 30 minute guideline makes a lot of sense. However if you are wearing something like a metal cock ring that does not restrict blood flow when you are flaccid, I don’t see any reason it can’t be worn for much longer. When all is said and done - be smart, pay attention to what your body is telling you, and be on the cautious side to prevent injury.

Yes, metal cockring of correct size is wearable for several hours, peronally I wear the ring daily, for hours.

Wearing a cock ring all day?

As @Hugo20 and @1NiceRod I wear a metal cockring all day long without problem. You just need to find the correct size of the ring matching your cock.
Normally there is absolutely no problem when you are flaccid, a problem could arrive when you get full erection with significant restriction of blood flow as said @_mfrankb_ .
I should say "never start directly with a metal cockring that you couldn't remove in urgency".
At the beginning of my cockring experience, in a party with my boyfriend and a couple of very good friends, I got a bigger erection than usual : my dick started to get full red-purlish! I had to escape a few minutes to have a cold shower in order to be able to remove my cockring. Then I could join again my partners.
Since that experience, I added 5mm to the diameter off the cockring I choose. I feel weel with 50-55mm diameter that I keep sometimes 24/7 with no more problem. About 30 years in cockring practice !
Most of time classical metal cockring that I keep flaccid and in full erection.

The same recommendations apply for the glansring ;)

Nice pictures with ring, is this 55mm?

One of the issues with some of us is ball size/hang vs soft/hard cock. If you have fairly "girthy" hanging balls... Your options are pretty open for long term wear. Your balls will keep it in place even if it's a little loose. The trouble begins with us "tight balled" guys. The one that works when my balls hang nice (usually in the evening) can be a 2" dia ring. But during the day when my balls are tight... I have to fight my tight balls then cock thru a much tighter 1.75" dia ring in order for it to stay in place. Otherwise one of my balls pop back out at at some point (ususally when I'm not expecting it... Ouch). But if I stay in a semi hard condition... it's the right fit. Not sure if I'd go more than a hour or so like that with that sizing for me.

Now silicone is a great compromise for sizing for guys in my situation. But even then... If it's a thick silicone ring, it tries to slide off as there's not enough clearance between ones high and tight balls and the groin. In that case a narrower silicone ring stays in place better. But, it can feel like it's pinching. Try a few and see what works.

Note: I just have to say that even though I have an engineering background... I still find it much easier to visualize diameter over circumference when discussing ring sizes. Yes, I know circumference is more accurate especially with oval/odd shaped rings... But diameter is just so easily visualized by most folks... at least me. 😉
