1. I'm straight and doing porn that would be for other guys is pretty weird for me.
Well, what if it were str8 porn? The thread title is not specific to any particular sexuality, so would your opinion be different if you were asked to perform with str8 girls?

There are a lot fewer str8 guys your age in porn. The gay market capitalizes more on young men than the str8 market does. But the str8 market often idealizes "barely legal cheerleaders" and stuff like that. Being young, hung, and str8 puts you in a minority in the industry. No chance of being a dime in a dozen. The trick in your case would be finding a studio that was interested in filming a young hung str8 guy in action. MILF movies??? lol

Not too many women will want to marry someone who's been on gay porn sites, even if you're just posing solo. Friends and family will never respect you again, and often times disown you for life.
Oy! Sucha drama queen! Do you know these things because you have a friend in the business who went through that? Because the buzz I hear from the business suggests that some women get turned on by knowing their man is a porn star. In our society, women in porn are looked down upon and degraded whereas men in porn are given a more powerful image and not thought of as slutty. In fact, in Playgirl, many women send photos of their boyfriends and husbands for the other women to see. Except by churchgoing women. You might want to stay away from them... they're always looking for something to "save" you from.

Well, you're young yet. Your opinion will most likely mellow with time. And for the people who enjoy doing it, porn is not "a last resort for those that have nothing else", but a road to income and some sort of fulfilment. Most assuredly, for some (many, perhaps), the skin business isn't the right thing. And some get brought in under the wrong circumstances. But there are people in the business (Jenna Jamieson and her husband for example) who truly love the work and enjoy the experience. For people like them, porn is not a bad industry.
