Or, grow pit hair and say F**k the Patriarchy.

AE, this reminded me of a section of Memoirs of a Geisha and the wooden "pillows" to protect their intricate hairstyles.
I'll stay with my satin sleep cap. Oh, so sexy.
I had a lover or two who liked to see me wipe my makeup away, do a mini-facial, and the rest of my bathing routine, complete with exfoliation and then help me oil my body, because I get rashy and itchy if no oil is applied and then help me with extra fingers as I wrapped my hair tight around my head, so I could secure it with a bandana without the use of pins. Those particular partners used to say they liked having me be at home with them. "NOW we are home," said one.

I don't grow much underarm hair. I remove every strand of it though. Not for the male gaze. If it stays, it is difficult to keep myself sweet-smelling and inoffensive to myself.

I shave my pits for my own comfort, not to give men wood.

I like the way my smooth skin feels. Do I let it grow out when I'm feeling lazy and giving zero fucks about feeling smooth? Yes. But I still enjoy shaving and that feeling of sliding around in my comfy sheets at night.

It's not for him. It really is for me.

Correct. People are individuals. Anything subjective is going to draw a wide range of opinions. Men LOVE concave armpits

I train with a tennis ball wedged under each arm for 3 hours a night

There's an evolutionary advantage too, a man takes one look at the perfection of my concave armpits and knows in his lizard brain that in times of danger, I could hide a baby in each pit, therefore ensuring the survival of his offspring.

Wherever I go I catch men staring... Don't beat yourself up, not everyone can have a perfect arc like me

OMG the tennis ball training killed me. I'm actually posting this from purgatory.

You have satin sleep caps? I need to get one of those.

I sometimes take a silky pillowcase and making it into one of those turby twist situations. The fabric can reduce damage and frizziness I think. It apparently reduces friction caused to hair against cotton bed pillow cases or something? Other people are likely to know more about this than me :)

I need a silky sleep cap in my life right now.
Find out where black women buy beauty products local to you. The silk and satin head covers will be across from black soap and vanishing creams, near sleep masks and rollers.

Walgreens carries silky satin (polyester) sleep caps.
Cheap.

I get mine from a Korean-owned shop in the Bronx. I described where I see them in Wal-Mart. I shave my head (epilate it, actually) so it no longer matters. But if my head gets cold, I actually wear silk scarves. The polyester ones were fine when inhad hair, but feel terrible and sweaty now.

Well can you at least tell us if the armpit concaveness improvements have increased your chances with the men in purgatory? They can be some picky motherfuckers down there

Yes, silk is 100% better - the skin is meant to breathe. I’m not sure polyester is a good idea... I sleep with silk pillow covers (they’re not that expensive and wash well in the machine), purely for the benefits to my skin and hair. Highly recommend.

Anyway, back to concave armpits... (you learn something new, everyday...)
