'VISIT FLORIDA' goes their ads. But I THINK NOT. Considering in Florida you can be shot dead by someone claiming to be "standing his/her ground" or run over by someone thinking you're a protester blocking traffic, or be denied your right to vote (not it's certain to get counted or go unchallended even if you DID) and where, "Masks? masks? we don't need no stinkin masks!" seems to be their motto.

And ALSO where you can get arrested for recording a COP:

Think twice before you whip out your phone and record a cop in Florida. You could be arrested.

ATTORNEY: What we saw on that video was an unjustified killing of Andrew Brown Jr.

An attorney for the family said they watched “an unjustified killing” of Andrew Brown, Jr. this afternoon.

The Brown family spent three hours behind closed doors watching six different videos of the fatal shooting of the man back on April 21st.

Attorney Chance Lynch said Brown was “ambushed”, and at no point did they see him pose a threat to any law enforcement officer, contradicting what District Attorney Andrew Womble told a judge during a court hearing two weeks ago.

."A California school district made a support group for white students to discuss how the Derek Chauvin trial affected them."

What???

I was affected. I was afraid that just one person in the jury would cause a hung jury to happen. Someone who couldn't care less about the facts. A white supremacist who hid this information from everyone.

That trial was the easiest of all the recent high profile trials to reach a verdict of guilty! I watched most of the trial. There was no way to find Derek Chauvin innocent!

That high school needs to be investigated!

The first paragraph of the first report below pretty much SAYS IT ALL: The police are a clear and present danger to people of color.

Police Officer- 'I beat the ever-living f--- out of' him 'all of a sudden he just went limp.'

It took two years to get the tapes that prove what we all knew. The police are a clear and present danger to people of color.

So often we idolize these people. But just watch and listen to the behavior of these people that are purported to be our defenders.

The police are too often the murderers of POCs

“They murdered him. It was set out, it was planned,” Greene’s mother, Mona Hardin, said Wednesday. “He didn’t have a chance. Ronnie didn’t have a chance. He wasn’t going to live to tell about it.”

There is not much left to be said after seeing the video. Is there? We need more than police reform or retraining. We need a purge.

THE POLICE ARE A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER TO PEOPLE OF COLOR. The frank and honest statement from the writer of one of the above articles that pretty much sums up our reality today:

More footage released, troopers to be punished in deadly arrest of a Black man in Louisiana | Reuters

More video of a fatal 2019 encounter of a Black man with police in Louisiana was released by authorities late Friday, and two state troopers were notified that they will be fired, in the fallout of a lethal traffic stop.

The newly-released bodycam footage shows a high-speed chase and Louisiana state troopers punching motorist Ronald Greene, 49, a Black man, while he was already in handcuffs.

He was also dragged across the ground by shackled feet, and stunned with tasers as he cried, "I'm scared."

One officer is heard commanding Jennette to "stay down, you stupid son of a bitch." The video also shows Jennette repeatedly pleading with officers that he could not breathe.

"You shouldn't be able to breathe, you stupid bastard," an officer identified in a lawsuit as Kendra Burton replies.

Indeed it IS, A.B. It almost seems as though SOME are waging a war upon Black people. While resistance to oversight, accountability, and forms of "legal" flim-flamery allow them to GET AWAY WITH IT:

Limiting Qualified Immunity for Cops Was a Bipartisan Issue After George Floyd’s Murder. What Happened? – Mother Jones

Qualified immunity has become a flashpoint in debates over police accountability in the year since former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd. The previously obscure legal doctrine is the subject of more than two dozen state and national bills seeking to limit, circumvent, or abolish it. Yet despite initial momentum, the reform effort has slowed.

In practice, this standard lets cops off the hook for blatantly illegal behavior.

Qualified immunity was created in a series of Supreme Court decisions starting in the 1960s, which ruled that government employees cannot be held liable in federal civil court for violating someone’s civil rights—unless their conduct flew in the face of “clearly established” law. That, it turns out, is a high and often arbitrary bar to clear.

In practice, this standard lets cops off the hook for blatantly illegal behavior, simply due to a lack of precedent.

New evidence suggests attempted murder cover-up by Louisiana State Police: report - Raw Story

New evidence is coming to light about the death of Ronald Greene while in the custody of police in Louisiana.

"New state police documents obtained by The Associated Press show numerous inconsistencies between Lt. John Clary's statements to detectives and the body camera footage he denied having. They add to growing signs of obfuscation in Greene's death, which the white troopers initially blamed on a car crash at the end of a high-speed chase and is now the subject of a federal civil rights investigation," the AP explained.

'They do what they want': Minneapolis police injured protesters with rubber bullets. The city has taken little action.

Louisiana trooper involved in Ronald Greene's arrest will be fired over unrelated use of force case, source says - CNN

One of the troopers involved in Ronald Greene's arrest will be fired over an excessive force incident not involving Greene, according to a Louisiana state official with knowledge of the investigation.

The dismissal of Trooper Dakota DeMoss by Louisiana State Police is pending official paperwork, the official said Tuesday. The official did not provide details of this other case.

Greene's family filed a federal wrongful death suit May 6, 2020, alleging he was "brutalized by Louisiana State Police and Union Parish Deputy Officers which caused his death."

Videos from body cameras worn by Lt. John Clary, Trooper Chris Hollingsworth, York and DeMoss were made public Friday.

Hollingsworth was set to be terminated for violations regarding body-worn camera and car camera systems, use of force, performance, lawful orders and for conduct unbecoming an officer. But he died in a car crash before he could be fired, Davis said.

3 officers charged in death of Black man who said 'I can't breathe,' Washington AG says

Three Tacoma, Washington, police officers have been charged in the death of Manuel Ellis, a Black man who died last year after he was handcuffed and restrained.

Officers Christopher Burbank and Matthew Collins were charged with second-degree murder, and Officer Timothy Rankine was charged with first-degree manslaughter, the state attorney general said in a statement.

Warrants have been issued for their arrests. The Tacoma Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Tacoma Cops Charged with Murder and Manslaughter

In order, Tacoma police officers Christopher Burbank, Matthew Collins, and Timothy Rankine.

Three Tacoma police officers face criminal charges: Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced the charges today related to the killing of Manuel Ellis in March of last year. The AG filed charges against Officers Christopher Burbank and Matthew Collins for second-degree murder and Officer Timothy Rankine for first-degree manslaughter.

"If convicted, the standard sentencing range for second-degree murder with no prior criminal history is 10 to 18 years in prison. The standard range for first-degree manslaughter with no prior criminal history is 6.5 to 8.5 years. The maximum sentence for both offenses is life in prison," writes the AG's office. "Warrants have been issued for the three officers’ arrest."

The AG's office goes on to write: "This is the first time the Washington Attorney General’s Office has criminally charged police officers for the unlawful use of deadly force, and just the second time homicide charges have been filed in Washington against law enforcement officers since Washingtonians adopted Initiative 940 in November 2018."

AG's declaration includes a very disturbing accounting of the actions that led to Ellis's death: While Ellis walked home from a 7-11 holding a bag of donuts and water, Burbank and Collins stopped and tackled him, then repeatedly punched his head. Collins applied a lateral vascular neck restraint—which the Washington State Legislature banned this year—before subjecting Ellis to a taser and additional force from backup Officer Rankine.

Ellis told Rankine that he could not breathe multiple times while Rankine restrained him and increased pressure onto his back.
An additional officer then placed a spit hood over Ellis's head, despite the hood's brand clearly stating, “DO NOT USE on anyone that is...having difficulty breathing." (A spit hood is "a fabric hood that...covers a person’s head and is meant to prevent the person from transmitting fluids," writes the AG.) While Ellis pleaded that he could not breathe, Rankine told him that "if you’re talking to me, you can breathe just fine."

Ellis was declared dead at the scene: The Pierce County Medical Examiner determined Ellis’s death was a homicide "with oxygen deprivation caused by physical restraint as the primary cause, and methamphetamine intoxication and heart disease as contributing factors," reports the Seattle Times.

Officers Burbank and Collins claim Ellis randomly attacked them, which caused them to restrain him, but the AG's evidence doesn't support the cops' story.*
