I was on the Board for an organization several years ago. I suspected that the president of the organization was gay and found his profile on a popular gay hookup site. In his profile pictures he was fully clothed. I noticed that the URL ended in a hexadecimal number, so I incremented it by one and was shocked to see a full frontal nude of him. Apparently the nude picture was a private post that I stumbled into. Since he was the president, I thought I'd better tell him that his nude picture was not protected. I knew some people would use it to destroy him if they ever stumbled across it. When I warned him, he was extremely embarrassed and then became extremely mad and accused me of hacking his account. I changed one digit in the URL, is this considered hacking? He then went to the Board and accused me of sexual harassment and tried to get me fired. In my defense I was forced to tell the Board what I had found, something I was trying to avoid. To my surprise, the Board backed me instead of him, even though he had been there several more years than me. They had seen him turn on people and lie to get them fired before. He then issued an ultimatum to the Board that if they didn't fire me then he would resign. The Board told him they weren't playing that game, so he resigned. In hindsight I never should have told him that his picture wasn't secure. I should have let it go. I thought I was doing him a favor. I had considered him a good friend until he tried to get me fired. To my knowledge he never got another job as president.
