I think I understand the question elicited here: "is this a gay encounter?"

My answer is this: no, of course not. Your wife overreacted to what was an innocent banter between two normal friends. She needs to get off her censorious high horse and calm her posterior down.

As for what occurred at the gym between you and your mate, as a gay man I find it hot. I know you do not, but gay men an find objectively non-gay things stimulating in a way that is gay for them; i.e. in the eyes of the beholder, as it were. For example, some may be aroused by drain pipes, but I am not. I like men in whatever the context.

Your wife is acting silly and somewhat insecure and immature as well.

Women talk about each other's body parts all the time, it doesn't make them bi or lesbian.

To get upset over that is a red flag to me. There are issues that you will have to work out. Generally with women, it's not so much what happened but more what it represents (as fucked up as that is and hard to comprehend as a man).

I would say it's insecurity or jealousy. She may be threatened by your friendship with your gym buddy and see it as competition. She will always want to rank number 1 as your best friend.

I think it's just some pretty harmless joking around between friends. Some people are just overly sensitive and stuck on preconceived notions so I don't think that there's anything you can do to convince them. I wouldn't worry about it.

"Nice balls, homie" is a pretty common expression between me and my friend at places where were both naked like locker rooms, showers, etc. It's just a funny thing to say. Lol.
