Have you been hiking or climbing nude?

Being nude in nature should be a more common and accepted thing. Ive camped, off roaded, done a little bouldering, boated, hiked and climbed trees nakey; solo and with other bros and girls.

When hiking in the mountains, it can be nice to jump in a lake to cool off and relax. So much nicer in the buff than having to deal with wet boxers.

Is that ok in the us? What would an officer say if they'd stopped you lol?

My understanding is that what you wear or don;t wear in your car is nobody's business but your own provided people in other passenger vehicles can't see you. I don't believe that trucks and busses count at "passenger vehicles".

Of course, if you get out of the car naked you're subject to the local laws.

We both kept a pair of shorts handy. If a cop had pulled us over, we'd've had them on long before he walked up to the car.

I have hiked the 1/2 mile trail to the nude beach many times but I have never been on a longer hike. I usually hike in a kilt, which is very freeing, and sometimes take it off for short distances. It's very easy to put back on when other people approach, kind of like wrapping a towel around your waist after a shower.

What kind of kilt do you use?

I have an Elkommando hiking kilt that's very comfortable and I sometimes use my 5.11 kilt. Both are light weight but I like the pockets in the 5.11

Do you ever get comments on the kilt? I don't have one, but think they are cool.

Have been a nudist over 26yrs, done many a day nude hiking around this great country Australia, plenty spaces to get free and enjoy. :)

I’ve done nude hiking at Roseland resort campground in WV, but I have never done it outside of where it would be legal. However, I have to admit that I was naked in the woods quite a few times over the years for a photo shoot for a friend and for some hot times. The only trails I followed though were treasure trails. lol

I use to hike naked all the time. Its strange, how removing a small pair of shorts would make such a difference in the experience. But feeling the air all over my body was so freeing. I loved being out in the woods naked, hiking through the trees and the gentle breezes. . After moving to Colorado, I haven't found a place where it would be safe to hike naked and not risk being arrested. But the whole experience was one of feeling free, and very enjoyable.

That’s a fun place

I was on a river cruise on the Amazon. On an excursion away from the ship on a small boat, we pulled to one of the few above water spots to get out and pee. In the short time it took to piss, I was bitten on the dick by a mosquito. No long-term damage, but it swelled up like those guys who pump. No nude hiking there...

I’ve done both hiking and camping, not climbing though.
There are Oklahoma) state parks that have “mountains” and valleys that give you great line of sight. If you put in the time to hike off the beaten path nudity is no problem. I’ve gone several days without seeing another person and spent the entire time nude. You have to be willing to carry in everything you’ll need for the trip.
I have left the safety of woods to refill water bottles at night and use the public shower houses and outhouse. They have these concrete facilities scattered around the park, some well off the beaten path. I never even met anyone at these places.
You can also control things by going early or late season and during the week when most people are working.
It was always great fun and freeing to be naked in nature.

I belong to a nude hiking group that does a bush walk every month, usually in one of the national parks around Sydney. The walks are done on weekdays to avoid clothed people. Not all the the walk is done nude; it depends on where it is, but at our destination which is usually a pool or waterfall, everyone gets nude and we'll spend a couple of hours there. As a nudist, most of my outdoor activities and socialising is done nude, and this is just another aspect of it.
We have had the occasional encounter with clothed people, but never anything bad. My experience at beaches and out in the bush is that most Australians aren't bothered by nudity if you're not forcing it on them.

I have along side the Potomac River in a very secluded spot. There were a couple of us actually. Not that it matters but the spot where we were hiking is up near the MD/VA line on the river (Maryland side). Lots of rocks and and such to climb there too. It was nice, nothing sexual just free in nature. This is an experience that I would encourage others to try if they can.
