TLDR; I’m a 30 yo M photographer in the Denver area looking to start a male erotic photography portfolio.
I used to be a professional photographer, mainly shooting weddings, events, interior spaces, portraits, and some fashion photography. I have a typical salaried career, so I’ve shifted from being a paid photographer several years ago to mainly shooting for close friends who I charge a couple beers for professional level work.
I’m looking to take this skill of mine in a different direction
I’d like to find some gents willing to bare all for a photoshoot.
To be clear, I’m not paying you and you aren’t paying me (I wouldn’t say no to a couple of beers though). I’ll get some practice shooting in this area, and you’ll get some professionally shot photos.
I mostly shoot using close range prime lenses with lens wide open using natural lighting in a lifestyle/shoot-from-the-hip photography style—so think of a point of view similar to how your eyes naturally see, of a scene that does not seem staged (some of best shots are taken when people least expect it), and a carefully chosen focus area with a ton of background blur. Environmental shots can have more of the environment in focus but you get the picture.
If anyone will be interested, you’ll obviously need to be comfortable in front of a camera. I’m a fairly chill guy and I’m used to making the vibe more comfortable. You’ll need a space with plenty of natural light, ideally with south facing windows. You’ll need to be comfortable taking some level of direction for me to get the shot. At the end of my photoshoots, I usually ask if there are specific shots my subject would like me to take but for the most part, I will frame the shot.
As for body type—how do I say average without making that sound negative? I’m mostly attracted to average looking men with body hair and meat on their bones. I don’t want to be ageist but I’m hoping for men age 35-50. ozphotography and Paul Freeman are a huge inspiration and they might be the best visual representation of the men I’m hoping to shoot.
I’m looking to establish a style in this area so I don’t expect my work to be shared publicly. If you are also looking for a sense of privacy here, I don’t mind drafting an NDA to make it a legally binding agreement.
No judgement, but I’m not looking to shoot within a fetish theme. 100% okay with some leather, but the Tom of Finland kind—not the “Arf!” kind.
