Romania condemned by European court for violating rights of LGBT couples

Not sure what the future holds, since many people are against sexual minorities in Romania, but it seems the Romanian Government lost against the European court... and rightfully so. Now they'll most likely have to implement a way for same-sex unions to be recognized by the state. Quite a big step forward, and one that gives most people here pause. Please be supportive of us, Romanian gays, in this critical moment. Thanks! :emoji_v:

I wish you the best of luck. I hope you are taking German lessons however. I advise ALL my Central and Eastern European brothers and sisters to learn German FLUENTLY. Do not bother with English. The States and even my country should not be a dream destination. Much love from Canada.

Update: recently, there have been protests here in Romania because the Government has not implemented yet a way for same-sex couples to be recognized by the state.

Unfortunately the rulings of ECHR (the European court of human rights which is the court in question) are in practice not binding and often ignored by member countries of the european convention on human rights.

I wish all the best for romanian gays and that gay rights will be advanced at some point.
