Hey, my first discussion thread! So be kind.

I found LPSG last year by accident. I love it, but I still don't fully "get" some things about it -- one of which is its history, or more specifically, any evolution it may have had from predominately straight to predominantly gay. (And maybe I'm imagining that ever happened, but it's the sense I get.)

If you are (truly) straight, do you find it easy to still find straight niches here, where people want to talk about pussy? When I look at new posts sitewide, they're almost always oriented for gay men.

And more generally, I'd be curious about the history here. Such a cool site -- I love it -- but don't totally understand how it has evolved through the years. I'm gay, by the way, if that part matters if anyone thinks I'm trying to make some point. (I'm not, just genuinely curious.)

I also found my way here by accident, manyyyy years ago
The present site, is still undergoing a few changes and refinements; but it was not that long ago the number of LPSG women far outnumbered the number of active members you see today . We had an active 24 /7 video chat room frequented by some of the most amazing and bad assed ladies on the planet earth.

Long story short, LPSG had / has something for everyone . Be they a lovers of penis or Vagina ; or both

Cheers

Well, I can tell you a little about the early history;

The very first time I heard of LPSG was the summer-ish of 2002 from a Yahoo Group. They announced that LPSG had just started. Back then it was LPSG.org I signed in as a guest to check it out, but there were only 6 members; I would have been the 7th member, but decided to wait and see if LPSG was going to erupt or fizzle out. I checked back a few days later, expecting a ton of new members, and that day I would have only been member number 13!

A couple weeks later I checked back again, and there were only about 32 or 33 members. So I kinda suspected it would probably never become a proper site to become a member. Honestly, the comments seemed mostly like joking about large dicks at that early time.

As the weeks and months went by I periodically checked back to see if the membership was growing, and if the comments were of more value, or not. Slowly, and I mean Slowly, the membership just barely moved in an upward trend. Yeah, LPSG.org had a very slow start, and early on I really didn't expect it to even survive.

As time went on I always just continued to sign in as a guest each time I came back here. By the second or third year it actually began to get my interest. But I still only signed in as a guest until I finally decided to join, in early 2006, as the 18,097th LPSG Member.

So, back then it took about 3-1/2 years for the first 18,000 members to join. These days, because of @Mr. LPSG directing this Awesome Site, LPSG is drawing in about a 1,000 new members every day. What's happening now in only 18 days, back then, took 3-1/2 years!

This little site that might well have fizzled out and died almost 20 years ago, has now grown to over 1-3/4 Million today, and fast approaching 2 MILLION Members later this year!

Thanks Mr. LPSG!

Actually, in those first few very early days I got mostly a nondescript sexual orientation vibe from the forum's first handful of members. I didn't sense it leaning straight or gay at all, at that time, because it really was about Large Penis Support Group.

That said, I guess it would be inevitable that because it was about support for guys with Large Dicks, it would obviously soon also draw curious, bi, gay guys, and of course, some females.

(Had it been Support for Vagina, I suspect it would have drawn mostly straight, bi guys, and gay women.)

Interesting thread! I found LPSG from just looking on the internet to try and understand what “big” really meant and how the sizes we all see on porn really compare to all of us average Joes. Porn really warped my perception of size so this site has been great for getting better (realistic) perspective. I have found both the straight and gay males on LPSG to be really supportive and in many cases very complimentary which is great to help with self confidence in size.

Don't forget Userplane :). Just imagine if they had of started facebook instead of LPSG.

There was a steady trickle of female members joining, but it's basically non existent now. Probably because advertising is mostly targeting the gay side of the tree.

I was 27 years old when I first got internet access from home. (I turn 52 this year)
Back then I first managed to find some message boards with topics that interested me. It was through these message boards I first learned of a site called lpsg.org.
It was still run by some college students who had created it for fun, asking questions such as "what accidents have you had, tripping over your own dick ?"
When more and more people found the site and actually started sharing own experiences and offering advice, it went from being a prank site to the beginnings of what we have today.
If I remember correctly, it was at about this time a guy called Mark took over the running of the site.
After that came Rob E until finally Mr. LPSG took over and made lpsg into the professionally run and enjoyable community we have now.

I've already detailed this a few times elsewhere, but I will recap. I joined LPSG almost a decade ago under a different name mainly for at the time, to glean as much fitness & nutrition advice as I could from many sources and thus I mostly hung around in the Health & Fitness sub-section and occasionally viewed female pictures in the Straight Photo Sharing threads. Back then, IMO the site seemed even more orientated towards a gay male perspective than today and I'll admit I found the sea of wang somewhat intimidating and harder to avoid. I was very minimally active and eventually didn't visit the site for several years as I found many other places for both exercise discussion and to view porn.

Eventually I found & joined LPSG's sister site, Sexual Forums, where I was much more active and there was not the seemingly singular emphasis on just penis and it seemed more geared towards all orientations, including those who considered themselves as part of a couple. When the site folded and many of the former members migrated here, I became active again, changing my username in the process. By that time, the site had become much more eclectic and I've not only become much more prolific here than my first go-round, but fully embraced it as an online home and many of the members as part of an extended family.

While there are those here who claim LPSG was always 100% inclusive, I honestly feel there have been more changes that have made it more than just a site for gay men than since when I first joined, although I admit a lot could be my perception since I myself have become more open since then as well as more exhibitionist and slightly curious.

Thus, I've not found it hard to find interest or acceptance here. On one hand, I've found no shortage of great straight members to discuss our mutual love of pussy with, while on the other hand there are plenty of men of any orientation and lovely ladies here to discuss anything else and to me, those non-sexual discussions are one of the main drivers here. I have no problems simply avoiding the sections I have no interest in, while interacting with the fine members of all stripes in the rest. This place truly has something for everyone and is more about the members than what others on the outside want to label the site as or thinks it is. To me, it is neither a "gay site" or even a "penis site"; but a true community that coincidently just happens to have a lot of large wangs.
