How do you see replies to posts?

You mean notification?
It's there (bell alarm) but you'll have to sift through the list to check (watch out for the ones that say "xxx has replied to your post" or "xxx quoted you", etc etc).
Not a notification but there's also a dedicated filter for all the posts and threads you did by going to your profile and checking the "Threads" and "Posts" tab. You'll see a dedicated list of threads and posts you did but you'll have to manually check each if there are responses.
Be aware that the notification bell isn't foolproof. I have had many many times where it just randomly decides to stop notifying me of updates on a thread.
Our old school forum layout doesnt nest replies the way that contemporary platforms do. We've talked before about adding a button or something to just list replies to a post in a search result page with a reply console at the bottom, but grabbing them all in reverse order is a heavy query and we decided to hold any development on this because it would put a strain on our hardware and the performance lags would make the experience crappy.
