I watched the testimony of these Capital Police...

Folks were are looking squarely at some major civil unrest very soon. The Congressional supporters of the Insurrection went silent. Fox News carried no news of the hearing until hours later (except for a simple live stream). Word is Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox had an all night meeting with GOP operatives to strategize the "rebuttal". And what was the first story they put up on social media? "The officers blame Trump for the riot". And just like clockwork... Thousands of comments from the conspirators showed up to defend Dear Leader. "Blame the officers". "They politicized the event". "They were lying". "It's only their opinion". "Pelosi did not protect the Capital...".

I caught Lincoln Project's "The Breakdown" tonight. Steve Schmidt laid it out pretty clear. We are on the cusp of a major shift in our country's level of divide. It's going to get very dark. 1/3 of our country supports an Autocratic Government now. Yes... 1/3.

Efforts by the GOP and their propaganda outlets to once again OBSCURE THE TRUTH come as NO surprise. Trump and his Republicans happen to be QUITE adept at pulling all sorts of nefarious SHIT and COVERING IT UP.

They covered up their involvement with Russia in sabotaging the 2016 election, they covered up Trump's criminality in his attempted extortion of the Ukraine (by refusing to hear witnesses in his first impeachment), they did likewise in his second impeachment, they craft new JIM CROW VOTER SUPPRESSION LAWS in secrecy, his AG Barr covered up and lied about the Muller investigation, his administration (in a recent report) covered up, altered or otherwise obstructed CDC Covid data...

they're trying to gag and intimidate a witness to the Trump's (pardon, his "organization's") tax fraud, and they covered up 4500 tips the FBI sent to them on accused sexual predator Kavanaugh.

And now they're trying to cover up insurrection and TREASON. Trying to rewrite reality itself, by making the defenders of democracy out to be villains while recasting seditionists as heroes, martyrs, and patriots.

Trump's "loving" rabble who rolled gallows into our nation's capitol, and desecrated the flag via not only the vulgar alterations to its appearance, with Trump's name and visage or the replacing of stars with emblems of bigots and supremacists, but also by co-opting it as a symbol of their TREACHERY,

wielding blue striped versions of it with which they beat police officers, no less. And by carrying it alongside the bloodied red rag of the confederacy - the same one carried in battle by soldiers who fired upon and killed those defending the former. The nature of that mentality such that it took 42 years hence to remove the bust of a war criminal and klansman from a Tennessee state capitol.

Al-Qaeda never posed as much of a threat to this nation as these... people... do. How about 9/11 you say? How about 110 TIMES 9/11... the estimated number of people dead because Trump & Co. looked America in the face and LIED to us about the dangers of Covid 19? 110 times... think about that for a second.

That's what Trump and his GOP have done to us, while they stoke their hate to cover for their GRIFT, via corporate interest money, pocketed pandemic relief funds, and build the wall, stop the steal, and whatever-the-fuck other bogus assed hate fueled fundraiser they can conjure up from their cauldron of deceit... AND by the way, while they cut unemployment benefits and oppose medicaid for millions of Americans who need it most.

These are the so-called "patriots" and "loving Americans" who want to throw out election results they don't like and create toxic batshit crazy conspiracy theories... and who are so filled with venom that they JOINED TRUMP this weekend, in actually CHEERING AMERICAN Olympic losses... because that's how they ROLL, they who want to send some minority "back" somewhere else.

After all, they certainly can't go back. With all the shit they stir, who'd HAVE them. Putin? I doubt it. Alaska did once petition to rejoin Russia as I can recall and they were rejected.

Still, some of them would "rather be Russian than Democrat"... or so they've said.

So its turned out the the GOP have an inbuilt speech impediment
When they said the Capital was filled with Tourists they did in fact mean Terrorists.
For those of you who watched the harrowing events unfold at the first day of the enquiry it was magnificent the way the marauding mob was defined as Terrorists.
The other telling moment was when Trump described the insurrectionists as filled with love, as the guy said maybe we should all go to his - Trumps - house and give him the same love.
He though was MAN enough to apologise, the GOP with few exceptions has just tried to pass it of as a rowdy picnic, have systemically refused to acknowledge the police were there to defend ALL
After one day the role of the GOP before, during and after looks unforgivable - re these really the sort of representatives the country deserves?

From Why the Republican Party Doesn't Appeal to People, courtesy of @chicagosam :

Trump and his fascists, in typical Bizarro world fashion, have a PENCHANT from naming things that stand for or do the OPPOSITE of what anyone with a normal brain might THINK. Hence why Trump's "stop the steal" is an effort to do JUST THAT... STEAL the valid outcome from the people's will, and why MAGA actually made America much WORSE, and why Trump's Saturday "Rally to Protect Our Elections" was really about UNDERMINING them. Or as noted below:

On Saturday night, Donald Trump captivated his audience with a truly Orwellian performance. The event was officially titled, “Rally to Protect Our Elections.” But of course the 2020 presidential election only required “protection” from Trump and his allies — protection against voter suppression, widespread lies and subterfuge, an attempted coup against the certification of electoral votes and other attempts to undermine democracy and subvert the people’s will.

The horror and disgrace of the Republican Party’ will be on full display tomorrow: MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace

So it comes as absolutely NO SURPRISE that Josh, the treasonous a------wipe
who voted to outright OVERTURN the 2020 presidential election, WOULD introduce a bill designed to OBLITERATE TRUTH. And he is not ALONE:

A group of Republican lawmakers now want to openly defend the Capitol rioters - Alternet.org

White supremacists' favorite congressman will hold press event to discuss 'treatment of Jan. 6th prisoners'
House rejects GOP effort to seat McCarthy's choices for Jan. 6 select panel
House Republicans plot retaliations as Jan. 6 commission prepares for first witnesses
.

Hopefully if the Trump Republicans continue with this, the vast majority of Independents will vote Democratic in 2022.

“Immunity and absolute power, bitches!
It’s all about ME!”

19 days until the disgraced, delusional, twice impeached, still in tantrum mode and denial of loss, unemployed, former government resident, squat and banned tweeter has his prophesied Mike Lindell messianic reinstatement coronation.

Send copious amounts of money directly to Donald Trump and the Trump Organization.
Trump sounds like a man who hell bent to overthrow the US government.

That makes him a traitor to the US. Will Trump replace Benedict Arnold as the best known traitor in US history?

The Trump Campaign Paid More Than $3.5M To Jan. 6 Organizers
OpenSecrets.org reported in February that payments identified in Federal Election Commission filings showed that former President Trump’s 2020 campaign paid even more last year than was previously realized to people involved in organizing the Jan. 6 protests in Washington, D.C.

OpenSecrets unearthed more than $3.5 million in direct payments from Trump’s 2020 campaign, along with its joint fundraising committees, to people and firms involved in the Washington, D.C. demonstration before a violent mob stormed the U.S. Capitol.

Recent FEC filings show at least three individuals listed on permit records for the Washington, D.C. demonstration were on the Trump campaign’s payroll through Nov. 30, 2020.

The Trump campaign paid Event Strategies Inc., a firm named in a permit for the rally that also employed two individuals involved in the demonstration, as recently as Dec. 15, just three weeks before the attacks on the U.S. Capitol. That’s according to the most recent FEC filings covering spending through the end of 2020.

OpenSecrets noted that the full extent of the Trump campaign’s payments to individuals involved with organizing the protests may never be known:

That’s because the campaign used an opaque payment scheme that concealed details of hundreds of millions of dollars in spending by routing payments through shell companies where the ultimate payee is hidden.

Trump’s 2020 campaign and joint fundraising committee, the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, spent more than $771 million through American Made Media Consultants LLC, according to new data analyzed by OpenSecrets. The secretive limited-liability company was created by campaign aides and members of Trump’s inner circle to act as a “clearinghouse” to pay vendors, concealing the campaign’s transactions with those vendors.

Why is it that no matter how awful, how illegal, how improper actions are taken by Trump and company: Why in the hell do only people below Trump get into trouble while Trump is spared?

How is it that people can watch the insurrection at the Capitol and then say it was just a peaceful tourist visit?

If Biden or Hillary Clinton has done just a third of what Trump and company have done, they would already be in prison!

I am very proud of the officers who were called by this committee to testify. They spoke confidently and forcefully. It would be great to have many days like this! Let the truth see the light of day!

Because just like my response about vaccinations these very same people WOULD HAVE TO ADMIT THAT THEY WERE WRONG and/or they made "mistake" when Don the con suckered them into voting for him in the first place.

It is why so many marks in a con (which they are) will keep coming back and back and back throwing good money after bad time and time again , they will do just about ANYTHING rather than admit they got suckered by a con man

It is why to this day they "justify" why they voted for him

All the typical bullshit

Almost always not true bullshit

He is Billionaire

He is "succesful" busniess man"

He is a ---

He is a ---

As to your 1rst question

All his life Trump has always been successful in getting "other people" to do the "illegal thing" and do it with out ever having to literally tell them to do it.

Michael Cohen before Congress "Mr.Trump "speaks in code", everyone that works for him knows the code" IE he never flat out says anything but says just enough that people "who know how to listen" will know just what he wants

They is why until now anyway he has always been able to walk

That and always being in civil court where worst case was he MIGHT have to pay somebody "someday" MAYBE he would pay that is

ALWAYS HAS. Hell, when his first actions upon OCCUPYING the office was to appoint people ideologically OPPOSED to the purpose and functions of their respected department or agencies, it didn't exactly take ROCKET SCIENCE to figure out what was UP.

The grief and toll caused by Trump attempted self-serving COUP and OVERTHROW OF DEMOCRACY continues to add up. MORE blood on his hands, AND on the hands his twisted sycophants':

'We'll kill them all': P Boy insurrectionist who stockpiled weapons faces new gun charges - YET COULD BE RELEASED

Matthew Greene, a member of the Proud Boys who's been accused of "a conspiracy involving terrorism" during the Capitol insurrection, is facing new gun charges related to a cache of weapons and ammunition FBI agents found at his home.

However, Greene's attorney says he could be released from custody Monday afternoon, according to Syracuse.com.

Federal prosecutors have argued that Greene should remain in custody, pointing to witnesses who heard him say, "We'll kill them all."

"On a site called 'Telegram' Greene posted messages encouraging others to read up on guerilla warfare and tactics used by the Taliban. He also wrote, 'be prepared to do uncomfortable things,'" according to a report from CNYCentral. "He is also accused of being a part of a chat group that was discussing killing 'anyone they got their hands on' including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi."
