I don't mind showing mine off for select members, but I'm not doing so to compare myself to anyone. I just enjoy showing off a bit here and there. My guy likes the idea of other people enjoying the view too. So, I have my little gallery and people I follow can see. When I do post pics I don't get much traffic and that's how I like it. And I never title them in a way that suggests I want to be "compared" to other women. Just enjoyed for who and what I am.
Comparing yourself physically to other people is unhealthy in general. Body dysmorphia isn't fun. There's a reason Photoshop and Face-tune are as popular as they are. And even though I'm pro-body-modding, I don't think the surge in plastic surgery is good because the motives behind it are often because of this "I need to look the way society tells me I should" mentality. It's not as often just about self expression and individuality. Not that I'm an arbiter of what's a good or bad reason to have a procedure done, I'm just basing my opinions on what I've read about the impact of this "aesthetically driven society" we found ourselves in. A lot of self harm happens because people are not happy with their bodies and have no means to change it, so they punish themselves physically for something that isn't at all a fault.
Then there's the grudge I have against vanity itself, because I hate my body for reasons completely unattached to how it looks. That's a whole different thread though...
I dunno. This is some nuanced shit.
