Heyy so I been recently discovering more about my sexuality and as a guy, I have been on Grindr and (other apps) and one thing that seemingly is holding me back is the perceived expectation that I as a bottom should be hairless. And I am wondering if that is a real thing/expectation that tops (particularly on those types of apps) have.
Don't get me wrong, I tend to keep my "areas" clean (front and back) but I still do have a beard and body hair. I have in my bios that I am not a twink but I feel like so many guys just message without reading the bio.
I still sometimes find body hair repulsive, and I could never figure out why so, when normally it doesn't bother me, though I'm never attracted to it, per se (save 5 o'clock shadow and beards). That is, until a friend answered my question about his near-fear of body hair with, "It's dirty." Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding! I realized that when a guy appears clean, I'm fine. If body hair is groomed—doesn't have to be short or stubble or anything, just managed, then I'm fine—it can then be attractive. I think growing up in the 70s and 80s, I just came to think of body hair as grimy and gross, a sign of a stinky, unwashed body. And I STILL get grossed out whenever I get any hair, of any length or type, under any conditions, in my mouth.
Anyway, it should be noted that even women often have hairy butts. Not forested, like many men are, but definitely hairy under the panty lines. Legs, too; just they're trained at a young age to pluck and shave and wax until they're anything but natural, depending on the broader ethnic group. Hairy hole definitely feels different from smooth hole, though if the hair is supple, it's hard to tell the difference without looking. By and large, guys just need to recognize that men with hairless butts are the minority, even where it's more common. Depilating works to some extent, but also brings a much higher risk of infections than shaving. Stubble is the worst, though, on the soft and sensitive skin of a dick, at least at the growth angles of butt cheeks, as opposed to face cheeks. Funny thing is that I don't top much, and I really don't like my dick getting the brillo job; BUT, that scraggly butthole always makes me cum pretty fast, for better or for worse. Nature… is.
