What I think you're looking for is some variation on the verb "pound" (pounding, pound out, etc, etc.) That can also be a noun in the form of things like pound-town. Like I said, I don't feel that I'd describe this as a pounding, but to each his own. As far as other examples go, just search for one of those terms and you're like to find something you like.
