Hey everyone...

Can anybody answer this seemingly dumb question?

So I have this guy (see photos) hassling me on Grindr, asking me to move onto telegram... He's also very persistent with asking for nudes and videos of me playing myself...

I feel like I've hit rock bottom: Scammers are trying to get to me hahaha

The thing is I want to kinda figure out a few things :
1 - Who's the poor guy he's using the photos from?
2 - Can I reverse-search the guy from his Grindr profile?
3 - I kinda want to play a little trick before reporting him (yes cause I'm that petty), what should I do?

Xoxo
Lou

Almost always a scam when they're wanting you to move it to Telegram or WhatsApp, because those services make it a bit easier for them to get your phone number, email, or other bits of information that can be used to spam you, attempt to hack your accounts or conduct identity theft. Other times they just know that when they bring up their crypto scam, you'll block them or report them to Grindr and get their account cancelled.

If they want to move it off the app within the first 25 messages or so, that's a red flag.

The other red flag is if you ask them what they like to do in their spare time or what their hobbies are, they'll be like "i love to ski and swim and also diversify my portfolio with crypto strategies..." or some bullshit like that. Instant block.

When I have the time I like to string them along and waste their time. It's usually someone rather good looking, in Russia or Ukraine, eventually needing money to come visit me. I'll fantasize thinking it's a real person who is interested, it's fun, but never I give into their game. And when I had enough, I let them have it.
Play along if you like, but never give in (it's always a scam!) or do anything you're not comfortable with.

The better scammers will use photos they have been given by the last sucker that aren't searchable online.

As discussed on a different thread, a way to catch these people out is to ask for a photo of them doing something that also includes their face. Eg brushing their teeth, hold up 3 fingers etc.

Adam4Adam is just crawling with the mother fuckers.

I get hit repeatedly by them. In the past week along I've reported 18 profiles and every single one of them have been suspended.

What's weird is that some of these are profiles that have been on A4A for over a month and no one else has reported them.

At this point, I'm not sure I want to stay on A4A because I serious don't know who is real or not.

I've even had verified profiles try to scam me and I've got them suspended.

General rule of thumb, as has been mentioned before:

1) wanting to use google chat
2) wanting to use Telegram
3) basically asking you to leave A4A and go chat elsewhere
4) if the guy is too handsome/pretty he's a fake
5) asking for $$$, is a scam
6) if the profile is just created, across the country from you, or thousands of miles away, it's a scammer.

Since my post last Friday, I have reported another 12 profiles to A4A to ban/suspend.

I then realized that I am spending more time reporting profiles than I am talking to real people.

So I cancelled my account with them.

I may have to go back to Scruff, which I don't want to do. From what I remember with Scruff, they at least make an effort to stop the scammers. A4A seems to be totally reactive.

Scammers are everywhere .. Facebook Grindr and app for relationships.. all them robocalls

The thing about reporting him in is they will delete his account .. all he will do is create a new account and act like someone else..

I had one person on Grindr .. we met and everything he said about himself was a lie .. I left and blocked him.. he created another account and I didn’t know it.. we met somewhere else and it was him again.. so I deleted Grindr ..

My brother got scammed by a girl he was chatting with on Facebook.. he sent her money and had him fooled she was going to come meet him and stay a week with him.. then she messaged him said she couldn’t make it as her car broke down and it was going to cost 150 bucks.. his dumbass sent it to her .. and she quit talking with him..

There’s all kinds of ways people scam .. even one eBay / PayPal .. I bought a game from someone.. I get this email saying what I ordered and address and so on ..but I needed to pay 10 bucks for shipping.. I was like it said shipping was free .. so I got to looking at PayPal and the purchase never showed up there .. so I cancelled the order called my bank told them what happened and not to let it go through .. few weeks later I was emailed by eBay that the person was arrested and had done at least 100 people that way .. and a lot of them stupid enough to pay for it

So everyone needs to be careful

Do not be deceived into believing that you can't recover your loss, those information are planted online by the perpetrators of these scams. If you take the right steps you can get back your loss. I can't fit my story into one comment or post but if i had not filed a complaint on deftrecoup (.) c o m, i would have lost a lot of money.

You could also file an email complaint to support @ deftrecoup . c om

One of the "joys" of this new brave world is nothing is what it seems, so, very right to be wary.
With the entire internet almost without any controls anyone can claim anything and there will be fools who fall for it. In many ways the old days had a lot of advantages.
Oh, by the way, I'm blonde, handsome and blue-eyed, work out a lot so have a fabulous body, and have a bubble butt and a nine-inch dick and can fuck for ages and ages. I own my own company and and self-sufficient, have a pilots license, a home in the sun as well as a pad in the city.....

That is a scam!
1) I was receiving those same pictures on Grindr two years ago!
2) They tend to be Asian guys who can write very good English.
3) They always want to move off of Grindr right away.
> It’s an attempt to get your personal information. Once they have it, they hold it ransom for money. One example I remember reading about is they call you when they get your real phone number and tell you they are underage. They say if you don’t pay them, they will go to the authorities…
BEWARE!!!

I actually did this to one of my Russian scammers. I asked him to hold up a paper with my name on it. He did, and it didn't look Photoshopped. There was appropriate light reflecting off it a bit. Looked legit. Unless he really went all out to mock it up. So, it may have been really him, but still a scammer at the end of the day. Of course I get the guilt-trip after..."You don't trust me?" Nope! "You're suspicious of me?" Yup!

There are plenty of scammers who live in countries where you have no recourse to recover lost funds. Many use VPNs to appear to be elsewhere as well.

I feel sympathy for people who are lonely and go to great lengths to find companionship. Unfortunately there are many who abuse people's rose colored glasses.
