While Alain Delon (1935) challenged Jean Paul Belmondo (1933-2022) as l'infant terrible. In terms of beauty Sorel was his main rival. Both could be brothers on a film (I think never happend).​

His youthfull and handsome looks open the Doors to the New Wave films as long as romantic teen films and Swashbuckler adventures.​

Sorel have taken all the roles that Delon dropped including Sandra and Belle de Jour.
He worked not just in France but in all western europe with a huge success during the 60s and 70s, specially in Italy, his wife homeland.​

From the final 60 to the early 80s he made several explotation movied.​

Yep that's a very brief but great role,, and with Belle De Jour his most remembered film, despite his little amount of screen time.

My favorite are his commedies, he is so funny, gorgeous and cute there. He was pretty damn good.in it, despite the fact in most his voice was dubbled because he usually worked in Italy, Germany and Spain.
No Desearas Al Vecino Del Quinto (Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Fifth Floor Neighbor, released in Italy as Due ragazzi da marciapiede) is was probably his biggest box office success. The Spanish Sexy Commedy co-staring Alfredo Landa had the récord of the most Spanish Film for over 30 years!!! Over 4.3 million tickets only in Spain!!!

In Toledo Pedro Andreu is a shy gynecologist, without any success, as he is too attractive for the husbands and boyfriends of his patients
. While Dr. Andreu fails miserably, the dressmaker Antón (Landa) i, owner of a boutique and with a reputation of being effeminate, is succesful making the husbands feel confident in him
Andreu goes to Madrid whereto attend a gynecology conference where,the doctor is frightened to see how Antón, his neighbor from the fifth floor is a playboy. When discovered, Antón confesses to Andreu that he pretends to be homosexual so as not to have problems with the husbands of his clients.
After that ey started sexual scapade with air hostesses, while the people of Toledo, including Pedro's mother (Isabel Garces) and his virginal, patient and lovely fiancee (Ira VonFürstenberg;), think there are a gay couple,​
Other I really like is Le Bambole. His segment was with Academy Nominee Akim Tamiroff and Gina Lollobrigida. A bored wife (Lollo) tries to seduce the young and handsome Bishop Nephew Vicenzo (Sorel)​

Unfortunately, I didn't see the Spanish film. But Le bambole is my favorite, especially the scene where Lollobrigida watches Sorel undress. The camera didn't show intimate body parts, but my teenage fantasy imagined everything. And of course, I also really liked his Italian crime films (giallos), such as Il dolce corpo di Deborah and Una sull'altra.
