Just curious why there is so much more interest in mtf than there is in ftm?

I'm not a fan of MTF at all really. I thought I liked FTM at one point, but now...not really at all, either.
A lot of straight men like MTFs. Gayer men tend to like FTMs. But you could be very gay, and still like sex with an MTF, and not an FTM. We cannot put our sexualities into neat boxes.
Not really my thing, at the end of the day. I keep an open mind, nonetheless.
