It would reduce the friction with the tube. When i started i was using just a little of lub and i got some pain too, this i why i'm telling you to try more lub.

I have the same tube and have found that you have to completely fill the tube before it does very much to increase the head. But once you do it enlarges pretty quickly. I've been trying to isolate just one image from the video I took but can't seem to do it !

Switched to baby oil and got a .25 smaller diameter tube....I like it more already....much more pressure on the head.
