Anyone else have issues with lube? I'm looking for recommendations.

Last guy I was with used a silicone lube I think and I felt great after, but I feel a bit yuck after using water based with my silicone toys.

I've seen a few sites speak about what ingredients to avoid for vaginal sex, but couldn't find a list to avoid for anal where you are potentially absorbing whatever is in the lube rather than just worrying about skin irritations.

What's the good stuff I should be getting?

Silicone is great, but not always good with toys as sometimes the silicone liquid can actually react with the silicone in the toy and cause degradation. Water-based lubes are better with toys, especially for clean-up.

Oddly, most folks report "yuck" feeling using silicone because it's so hard to clean afterwards and can permanently stain sheets, etc. That's why you need special silicone wash for yourself or your toys which can be found on some of the better lube selling sites; it has a bit of orange oil in it that breaks down the silicone and gets things very clean.

There are also a lot of "hybrid" lubes out there, a mix of silicone and water-based that has the durability of silicone, but washes up a lot more easily.

Get some xanthan gum (found in the grocery store with cornstarch), mix with hot water. I use 1/4 tsp to 1/4 cup water. In 10 mins you have very good lube.
Xanthan gum is a food additive and replaces corn starch.
My wife is allergic to everything xanthan gum and coconut oil are the only thing that don’t bother her pussy and it is fine in my ass.
Xanthan gum is the ingredient in a store bought lube, I don’t know what brand.

J-Lube is great too.

It comes in a powder and you have to mix it in batches, but it's safe for all toys and probably more slippery than silicone. Consistency is like snot (sorry).

Washes off / out well. :)

You shouldn't use silcone lube with silicone toys.

Water based lube dries too quickly and is very sticky.

Coconut oil is ok for silicone toys as long as your toys are actually silicone and not rubber or plastic.

It also washes out of sheets easily too.

I think water based is the way to go. It washes off easy. It does lose it effectiveness relatively quickly but you can always put more. If you want to change things up there is this warming gel like lube by KY. It's interesting in texture and feeling.
