I think it's normal...i don't think it's all that universal though. I think differing demographics of straight men have a spectrum of comfort in sharing their sexual space with other straight men. Yes, and particularly as a young single soldier (back in the 80’s); I’ve watched lots of porn with other guys. With one exception, no dicks were pulled out and no masturbation happened.

Years back before I was married there was a few times watching porn on VHS with buds. But it never resulted in anyone jerking off. That would have been met with an immediate "WTF????"
