I agree. "Free Fall" is one of the best gay movies, I have seen for many years.
Is has been called a German "Brokeback Mountain", and there are several similarities between the two films:
"Free Fall" also takes place in a very macho environment (the policeforce), which causes conflicts, so does the fact that one of the protagonists has come to terms with his sexuality - the other one has not (or perhaps he is bisexual?). Finally there is the ending. "Like "Brokeback Mountain" it has no happy ending.
