This is my first post on the site, although I've already had a chance to check out some of the amazing threads that are published here.
I think maybe I can contribute something of interest to the LPSG community:
Indeed, I became very curious about certain aspects of male intimacy and sexuality (I mean, not just so-and-so, but about averages, statistics...). And I couldn't find answers to my questions.
It seems that some aspects have never been studied.
So I launched my own study!
It's not professional, it's purely personal. But I'm taking it seriously.
I created my survey using a Google form (2 versions: french - I'm French - and international in english) and I'm sharing it as much as I can with volunteers.
I currently have around 3,500 responses for the french version and 1,500 for the international version. So that's starting to become representative!
And I get real statistics and can see and quantify all the possible correlations.
The subjects are very varied, such as the penis itself (size, shape...), ejaculation, sexual experience, porn consumption, bodyhair, tattoos, vasectomy, and many more, and each theme is detailed.
The great advantage is that you can correlate a lot of data.
Are men with larger penis more likely to engage in certain sexual practices? How do countries rank by penis size (ok, classic)? How many straight men compare their penis and what aspect in particular? Are men who consume more porn more likely to shave their pubes? And many, many (really many) other (useless?) but fascinating questions to which I get answers backed up by statistics.
How could my survey be interesting for the LPSG community?
1. Maybe some people would like to answer it personally. It would be very interesting for me, I'm trying to increase the reliability of the international version in terms of representation of the different countries. I'd be happy to share my survey, but I don't know if sharing my Google form directly is allowed under the site's rules (a priori yes).
2. Share the results. I'm thinking of starting to publish the statistics. I'm not sure where yet. Maybe in LPSG? In any case, if anyone here wants to know the results (especially those who took part in the survey), I'll be happy to reply.
3. My survey about porn models. As you'll have gathered, my survey is about men in general, ‘ordinary’ men. But I've also created a smaller survey aimed at porn actors/models, which I consider to be a bit special.
I've collected some answer from known actors, but very few in total. It's difficult to get answers from them. If anyone is interested in this study or in helping me to get answers, I'd be delighted.
I'm interested in any other kind of exchange if ever there are people as curious as me!
