Long story short, I was desperate for the toilet one day and was close to central park. Google public toilets and stumbled across The Ramble. After I did my business I noticed a guy just hanging around...I moved over to the urinals to see if he took the bate, and he did! Turns out it's a massive cruising spot! It was so fucking hot. Wish I had more time to go back there but didn't have the opportunity.

There are so many less risky and less skeezy ways to get off than that. You could find yourself in the middle of a sting, like the owner of whatever NFL team that was.

I don’t use apps other than Sniffies and squirt. No apps I have to download to my phone as I’m on the downlow. Just like jerking in public places and being naked with other men.
Check out the video arcades in Chelsea. Others might have better advice. Maybe a massage parlor makes sense for you. Squirt and Sniffies seem like exactly the way to go, as they have cruising areas built in.
NYC also has sex clubs, but evidently they're surprisingly not all that great*** (nothing like Steamworks), maybe because sex is so easy to find there without going to a sex club.

This is very true, but cruising is also a hookup style all unto its own. It's hard to make suggestions of comparable experiences that really satisfy that type of urge. I literally heard the sad trombone womp-womp when I read the apps suggestion.
What you said about the risks does go without saying but the whole thing of apps bars etc... doesn't come close to replacing the 'going fishing' type of anticipation when it comes to visiting cruising spots. Sometimes you get skunked, sometimes you get big one on. They don't have to see your house or vice versa, you dont have to know what social strata they occupy, and you don't really have to put up with a bunch of bs small talk questions to get them interested. There's really no comparison.
I totally get that. My response was specifically as a counterpoint to the suggestion of going to "M4M spas." Other than the hookup apps, I gave suggestions about more traditional cruising that doesn't involve being a customer in a spa: video arcades, sex clubs. I thought of mentioning the Ramble -- the famous outdoor cruising area in Central Park -- but I thought it might be cliché and I don't know what it's like in 2002. Outdoor cruising in NYC has certain risks that I don't feel knowledgeable enough to address, and this person didn't really express an interest in outdoor stuff.

Sniffies lists a lot of cruising spots and can be very useful in finding active bathrooms, etc.
In my experience, the guys in the video arcades in Manhattan are not attractive. Back before apps were a thing you could usually find a broad mix of guys looking for action. Nowadays the cute guys are all on Grindr and the arcades are pretty empty except for a few desperate guys. I don’t recommend.

I did the same thing last week. Went to the toilets on the steps down to the lake (Bethesda Fountain) in Central Park. And there was like 5 people wanking at the urinals. I was with my family - luckily they waited outside. I busted at the urinal and then went outside like nothing happened haha.
totally wanked at the same place today... so hot.
