There are alternative platforms but they don't have the name recognition Only fans does so there may not be as many paying customers willing to jump immediately to a new platform. As their will be such a glut people may not know which they can trust with their CC info.

I've mentioned this before. Before taking over LPSG I invested in a competing company to Onlyfans. We did a lot of testing and research and like you said without that critical mass we just couldn't compete. It's like being a small store in a small town in the middle of nowhere or that same store in the busiest biggest mall in the busiest city in the world. The volume changes everything.

My guess is they are taking this public stance but the actual implementation of the rules (if it does go through) won't happen for many months.

By the way I just did some digging and it seems that Onlyfans has told performers very clearly that Age Verified performers have nothing to worry about. Nothing is changing. The fair use of content that applies right now will stay in place. No changes for them.

Yes. It is weird they would say that. That said the way it is set up everyone can technically become a performer at any time right? I think that may be why they said that. It seems like this may be a way to clean up the non performers on the platform.

There seems to be a disconnect in how they define "sexually explicit" content. Understand they'd want to prevent the stuff they listed, but... Wouldn't that essentially already be banned?

Sexually explicit likely means no jerking off, no sex scenes, nothing other than nude photos. Zzz.

justfor.fans is a different website. I believe they are one of OF's biggest competitors and they're still pretty small in comparison.
Some content providers have accounts on both.

Where did you read that? I doubt it is true. Banks don't worry this much about refunds. Not at the size of Onlyfans. This would have more to do with documentation and potential legal issues.

Stories on the BBC about underage models making money on Onlyfans is what Mastercard and VIsa hate. Especially so soon after the pornhub shit show.

This is the Accepted Use Policy (AUP) of Only Fans: Acceptable Use Policy — OnlyFans. The details of what is NOT OK are clearly spelled out. Some sections are no brainer, but I still wonder if "non-sexual" nude is OK. For example, an "artsy" nude of a male model that clearly shows his hardon. Is that OK?

If I go by the statements on the AUP, showing genitals are no longer OK.

I guess with their AUP released, it is clear. Prior to that, I can see the confusion via Twitter threads and discussions going back-and-forth.

I guess any OF creators with decent intelligent better start planning their exit and relocation to a competing platform.

The reason Amex doesn't support any porn transactions is because the chargeback rates are super high for the whole industry. Then take a site like OF that is designed to be as opaque as possible + enables scammers, and I bet the chargebacks are ridiculous (and rightfully so).

OF is a sleazy, corrupt company that gives zero shits about the user experience. They have only ever cared about maximizing transaction volume--that's why they've never even bothered to add a simple review system. They love it when horny people make bad decisions and get ripped off, because it means more money for them. Getting axed by the credit card companies is the product of its own greed.

Hopefully they get replaced by a decent platform that cares about customers.

A platform that lets you see a preview of the product BEFORE you pay.

A platform that doesn't let people double charge you via surprise PPV paywalls.

A platform that at a minimum, has a review system so customers don't get ripped off.

A platform that lets users download the videos THEY PAID FOR.
