Mine's just the nickname given to Yorkshire people when the accent is heard in other parts of the UK.
I also chose it for the tasty chocolate association.

Mine is an insult that I reclaimed from bullies. I used to have a couple of long blog posts about those experiences, but the LPSG rules changed and made the blog posts no longer permissible, so I deleted them.

At the time that I joined this group---I was going to say, "about a hundred years ago" before I read the first post in the thread and saw Terrorvision using the same phrase---most aliases on the site seemed to involve penis references. So I derived a syllable from letters that occur in my actual name and stuck "boner" on it. It never occurred to me that people would assume that it meant I am from California. Of course it's a stupid name, but, having made a sort of brand of it (before Tumblr shut out pornographic content I had 30,000 followers there), I was not about to change it. And anyway, I could predict that anything else that I could come up with would come to seem stupid to me anyway.

On forums where I don't intend to post or don't want others to know my identity, I usually just sign up as some form of a lurker username. After seeing the article on cracked, I just wanted to see exactly what "large" meant and I didn't think I'd participate here. So after a bunch of years and a bunch of posts, I don't think the lurker part is accurate, but 23 is still my favorite number.

The alpha characters in my username are a portion of my real name and the numeric characters represent my favorite commercial airliner ever built, the Lockheed L-1011. I've used this username on many sites since 1999.

Ahh yes. The L-1011. Had the pleasure of flying on one, ages ago, on a trip to Miami. Like floating on a cloud. So smooth I almost didn't know we'd landed.

Wow! Member since 2005! I am honored to have you like one of my posts. Thank you! Yes, the L-10 is my favorite commercial airliner. I used to work for TWA and we had 22 of them. We and Eastern were some of the first major airlines to take delivery in the early 70s. Very glad that you had a chance to have flown on one. I've flown over 4 million miles and a good deal of that had been on L-1011's. In today's world I have no desire to travel by air any longer. :(

BTW, I very much like your signature statement and completely agree with it. Thanks again and be safe.
Brett ;)

I just played scrabble with your name and came up with Al Cabone.

Ummm... not that I wish to sound a discordant note but are you sure a Yorkie qualifies as tasty chocolate?
