I like him because he isn't a pretty lad, like a lot of soaps go for, when they get a straight man to play gay. It is interesting that his story (and the vicars of course) doesn't get the same amount of fans that Ben & Callum get in Eastenders - they have fans who go way over the top - usually middle aged women who conflate the actors with the characters they play.
