I wonder if this photo was of a tribe in the Andaman Islands that is protected by the Indian government. The natives there are isolated and are resistant to foreigners approaching.

I seem to recall there was a Western man who dressed up as one of these Terra Cotta army characters, jumped into the pit (illegal) and stayed there, motionless for a while before being discovered.

Photography is not allowed of the terra cotta warriors, but I did take a picture or two - no flash, of course.

There was a site nearly where they have replicas of the terra cotta army, and unsuspecting tourists will end up there, posing with the figures and feeling very happy with their photos with the fake terra cotta army. I don't know if that site had been closed down now.

Went on a holiday a week ago. On one day I visited Telgte, a small town of 20,000 in North Rhine-Westphalia. Here are some of the pics I took:

There are a Gothic church (St. Clemens) and a Baroque chapel of pilgrimage in Telgte that are of interest:

Wasn't easy to take pics inside but some turned out to be decent (first two of the church, last one of the chapel):

Another small town I visited this week was Warendorf in North Rhine-Westphalia. The town was granted town privileges around the year 1200 and has a population of 37,000 nowadays.

DIE ASAMKIRCHE- benannt nach den Erbauern, den Gebrüdern Cosmas Damian und Egid Quirin, wurde die Kirche nähe Sendlinger Tor (eigentlich St. Johann Nepomuk Kirche) 1746 nach dreizehnjähriger Bauzeit fertiggestellt. Die Brüder hatten mit einer Verbindung zur Kirche auch ihr Wohnhaus nebenan errichtet. Das Gotteshaus giltg als einmaliges Denkmal spätbarocker Zeit und ist ein baumeisterliches Juwel ohnegleichen.

Wenn immer ich durch die Stadt gehe, trete ich in diese Kirche zur Andacht an. Die Seele fliegt...
