Please be careful online. There has been a rise of cyber crimes and cyber attacks. My friend just got her bank accounts wipe out completely because of a cyber hack.

1. Make sure you check that your firewall is on.

2. Perform a security scan for malware
If you don’t have a tool for this already, here are some great anti-malware programs to get you started:

• BitDefender
• AVG AntiVirus
• Malwarebytes

3. Enable multi-factor authentication. Services like Gmail already offer this:

• Setting up multi-factor for Office 365
• Set up 2-step verification for G Suite

Depending on your internet browser, there are also several add-ons which can help prevent ISP tracing and tracking, pop-up and other ad blocking, etc

Adguard is a good browser extension that's useful, free, and available for most browsers. It not only blocks ads, but malvertising.

Make sure to keep your devices, anti-virus signatures, and browsers up to date (Windows, macOS, Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and uninstall Adobe Flash Player at the end of the year. Windows and Microsoft Office updates are released the second Tuesday of every month.
