RIP Anne Rice 1941 - 2021

Beloved gothic romance writer Anne Rice, died Saturday in NOLA, 11-December, from complications due to a stroke.

I actually cried last night learning of this. As a young one, my father always had her books around. His mother was adament that I not read them because she (Rice) was a devil lover blah blah blah. Dad ALWAYS let me read her, far before I was probably old enough to do so.

Anne Rice held such a large role in my love of books. My introduction to the dark, strange and paranormal/preternatural was at her hands, at well as King.

My heart breaks that we've lost a delightful and much beloved author of our time.

Rice, Collins, and Brite will always be the Holy Mothers of Bloodsuckers.

I had to read her books because Mum forbade us. So sad to hear.

I've walked in front of her house on Napoleon Avenue in New Orleans once. It's enormous!
