In the last week, I've noticed tears (as in rips) on my foreskin, and it made retracting the foreskin mildly painful in an erect state but that's all. It's now a week later, and the tears are beginning to bleed, I was going to go to the docs today, but it's a bloody bank holiday, so I'm going to get an appointment tomorrow.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had this? I looked it up and it seems that it could be phimosis, but I'm only 18, and it seems to be prevelant more in older men. I can't even pull the foreskin back in a flaccid state now, because 1. it hurts way too much and 2. it's just too tight.

Thanks

But first, you probably don't need to be circumcised. I mainly bring this up because I've seen people wax lyrical about the aesthetics of the circumcised penis IN MEDICAL JOURNALS.

You mean rips or small cuts? I've had that from abbrasion and the dry skin then bleeding. Also had a few small cuts from pulling it back. They all healed up and I never went to a doctor. I think zinc helps it heal? Like a zinc cream...

They seem to be rips, and yeah, the skin seems to be very dry. I figured at first it was from just not wanking or fucking or anything lol, but i only went 4 days without. If being excessive after a dry spell does this I don't think I'll ever ignore my dick again lol.

it does sound like some sort of retroactive phimosis condition, which is unusual but by no means unheard-of. if you see a doctor as soon as possible, he should be able to prescribe a topical application which'll clear it up without needing to refer you to a urologist.

thanks, I was panicking this afternoon just before I posted this, so I figured y'all would be helpful, and youse have been, so thanks :)

PS. as bizarre as it may be, I was gonna make an appointment on friday, but i broke my nose on thursday night, so I was concussion-ised the whole weekend lol.

You mean to say you talked to us b4 you talked to a doctor? The rips sure sounded serious, and I hope you went and talked to a doctor. If not, get off your ass, pick up the phone book, pick out a doctor, call his office, and make the appointment.......NOW!!!

My longtime fuck buddy has a mammoth dick and a foreskin to match. He's always catching it in his zipper. I respect all you guys who love your foreskins, and while my buddy wouldn't give up his, I'm glad I'm cut. I'm as long as my buddy but not quite as thick. I'm happy with what I have and wouldn't want the hassle of a foreskin.

okay, this isn't an opportunity to resurrect the circumcision preference debate.

hippyscum: you say that the skin is very dry, so possibly the "rips" in it could simply be cracks - that would correlate with the tightening effect too. some kinds of fungal infection can cause those effects. if that's the case then it shouldn't be difficult to clear up with medication.

Thanks again folks, the earliest I could get a docs appointment was friday morning, thois will be twice in the last week that the NHS have pissed me off lol.

And yeah, Dr Rock, I'm beginning to think you're right with what you say. The skin is flaky and extremely dry (also freaking painful as well lol), and so I'm not in "panic mode" anymore. I daresay once this is over, I'll haveta stretch my foreskin out again... *sigh*

Sounds like he's in a country where they don't automatically suggest circumcision at the first sign of any difficulty with the foreskin.

Hassle? What hassle? In 48 years I've never had the slightest difficulty with mine, and I'll bet that's true for most intact men.

Update: Dr Rock was right, it's a dermatological condition, that I've got some steroid cream for, thanks for the advice folks *phew*
