So I caved and subscribed to his IG account.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend it, its fairly bland. Its basically staged and the same up-close chest pics that you would get for free.
He does go into his coming out story and meeting his husband. Basically because DADT was still in affect for most of his time in the military, he wasn't out. Which may explain why, up until recently, he was very "mute" on his sexuality.
I remember finding it odd that for years, he wouldn't even acknowledge he and Travis' relationship as romantic. Like it was very obvious that they were a couple, but his posts would always make it seem like they were just "hanging out with my best bro
" up until last year when they got married. Which kudos to Travis for putting up with that, because i wouldn't have.
He mentioned that his family was super Catholic and coming out to them was a huge obstacle, but he didn't want to get into talking about that. He was visibly emotional when he brought that. There were no photos posted of his family coming to his wedding in Mexico, which breaks my heart. I'm hoping that wasn't because they did not support him.

During his upperclassman years, he and his friends booked a trip to Puerto Rico for Spring Break. When his friends partied with girls at the bar, he snuck off with a gay guy he met at the bar. They went to the beach where they talked, kissed, and hooked up. He never spoke about that to anyone.
Senior year, RJ's friends from that Spring Break tell him that they saw him kiss the guy. RJ panics thinking that its the end of his career and they would tell on him, but they just say they are cool with him.

I would say visibly withholding tears. It seemed like a very trauma producing event that he didn't feel comfortable discussing. As someone who was disowned by their family for their sexuality, I understand. You can't fake emotions like that.
