Sammiches and such.

Tonight I'm making honey butter biscuits. Butter is in the freezer now, the cheese grater is ready to grate the frozen butter when it's nice and hard.. I'm excited as eff yo.

I watched this and got way inspired.
I'm doing it exactly as she describes. My butter should be pretty hard soon it's been in the freezer for about an hour.

I love biscuits. I'm not sure what we'll have them with but I'm trying to make these things the star of the meal.
The best biscuits are the ones you cut into squares or rectangles. Easier than messing around with a shaped cutter, repurposing the leftovers, etc.

Not quite a sandwich but I whipped up 2 burgers for myself earlier. Buns from a bakery, Duke's mayo, garden tomatoes and butter lettuce, onions from the farmers market, my own grind of 75/25 beef, thick cuts of organic colby jack cheese. Bit of ketchup. Half pound patties.

I don't do this often but it was the perfect hangover cure. My go to late night sandwiches recently have been slightly toasted bread (store bought double fiber is good enough), thin shaved slices of very extra sharp cheddar, tomatoes and a generous squirt of Koop's mustard, Arizona Heat, cause you gotta represent. It's got a nice tangy flavor with a mild spicy kick.

Sometimes I'll throw in a half avocado for heart health.

My next baking adventure shall be:
Strawberry Almond
Almond
Scones

šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„

I've never made them before but I'm way confident after my biscuits yesterday. Like, for sure they're gonna be gooder than fuck yo.

I wanna make them now. But.. I might wait till tomorrow morning so they'll be warm with my coffee. Tonight maybe another butternut squash pie. So I guess my next *new baking adventure will be the scones cuz I've already made a badass butternut pie. Time for another!

This is how I really know cooler weather is on the way, I'm calorie loading like I'm bout to go into hibernation for the winter

Yup. They came out a lil fluffy for a scone cuz I think I went ham with the baking powder but I'm not complaining at all. I've had fresh baked scones before and I'm pretty impressed with myself for my first time.

They're good.

My honey almond scones FUCKED pretty hard too. The edges were a bit messy but so perfectly crispy. And these were definitely the butteriest things I've made in the best way. PXL_20241002_221633906.MP~2.jpg
