Weird that Corbin Fisher are getting quality models while SC can't. Looks like their casting agents are weak in looking for fresh and hot models in line with SC's brand.
I think the issue is that SC is poisoned with the Mindgeek brand while CF isn't. Is my only best guess.

Here are some casting images from Elliot on Sean Cody, real name D. Dubec. IG @DDube12 If you saw his solo you saw him enjoy a butt plug. I know it isn't the last time he had something hard up his ass. He kept asking them to come back to bottom but he is a douchbag. They probably didn't want to work with him again.
Here is a link to his duo scene https://www.everydayporn.co/videos/43826/seancody-sc2129-elliot-rusty-bareback-1080p/

does anyone still actively check for sean cody updates? i feel like their haven't been any standout models in a while even pairing older more popular models with the newer ones aren't that good the scene quality is okay ig but the newer models aren't bringing anything to make me want to actually tune in to it...the last scene i watched that i found good was probably jax and archie last year

I still check to see what they are, but the number of their updates that have even mildly intrigued me since the start of the pandemic I could probably count on one hand.

I mean, look what's happened since then. The beloved Archie retired, wildly popular Jeb had his criminal record exposed and his looks changed (and not for the better IMO) and I think he also retired. Lane has not been around, plump-bootied Riley Chaux was asked to come back but apparently wasn't interested, Sean and Blake have had a few updates each, but Blake is rapidly losing his hair and Sean's hairstyles have been...unusual. The frequent calls for Jax to bottom have gone unheeded. Promising newcomers either didn't return (Jace) or went to other studios (Levi Whitman, Noah). Same for Ayden. They've managed to get a few new guys in the door, but some of them like Nikolai are extremely unpopular. And then of course there's the elimination of nearly all of their classic library.

I still think that's suspicious, IMO. At the beginning of the pandemic, they were repackaging old scenes and doing pop-up videos for them and passing them off as new updates. During the purge, it was noticed that the original videos were gone, but the pop-up versions remained. Some have said that the elimination of the classics was due to someone at SC/MG not keeping the appropriate paperwork to verify models age and such and so the scenes were removed, but that doesn't make sense. Why would the presumably more popular original scenes be gone, but the distracting pop-up versions still exist on the site?

I think MG just wanted to get rid of any traces of the existence of the original SC.

OK - but why would they want to get rid of the traces of the original SC? Porn is a ridiculously oversaturated market. SC was differentiated. It had a unique brand identity and a shitload of fans. That's no small achievement. MG presumably paid at least a couple million for the property. Getting rid of what makes it unique only serves to devalue their investment.

I confess I have never understood the rationale that Mind Geek wants to destroy Sean Cody. It is entirely illogical.
I do think they bought up the brand because it adds to their cache and typically they wanted to reduce overheads (standard practice when one company takes over another) and that is the logical explanation for why the quality has declined so rapidly, along with the exiting of the original management team, who had a passion for what was produced. They have been replaced by Mind Geek, who don't have that passion and who are focused on creating the maximum amount of cheap average content - the same has happened with Men, which used to be a reliable site involving hot sex and has now morphed into a weird porn sketch scene mash up, which obviously reflects the mindset of Mind Geek and is present in both their gay and straight porn outlets.

The issue over the the back catalogue is fascinating, I suspect the lack of access is because of the tightening restrictions on porn companies to be able to verify information on porn performers to satisfy credit card companies that they are not advertising illegal pornography. The vast majority of retired past performers probably have no interest in assisting Mind Geek in resolving this issue.

I see this frequently in business -- when new management comes in, they change everything because they want to put their own personal stamp on it and they want to remove anything that reminds anyone that previous management even existed. They change things that don't need change. It's a control issue. The pre-MG stuff wasn't their work and they probably wanted it gone. The new SC is very MG-oriented (the shocked faces, etc).

If that's what happened, it's dumb on MG's part, but based on what I've heard, very little of what they do makes sense.

How do you then explain why in some cases, the newer pop-up version of a video is still on the site, but the original is not? It's the same performers and was filmed at the same time.

I have absolutely no idea, just speculating. Absent seeing the contracts its impossible to speculate about the reasons.
I just don't believe a company would buy one of the most respected and well known (and valuable) brands within its bracket to purposefully destroy it and abandon its back catalogue. Why buy it? You wouldn't buy the Mars company and then discontinue making Mars Bars. You may adapt the Mars Bar to make it cheaper to produce it.

The logic here is easy to understand. They bought SC because it threatened their crown jewel, Men.com. By purchasing and slowly diluting the SC brand while continuing to refine and develop the Men brand, they eliminate the problem and still reap the benefits.

It's not at all uncommon in mergers and acquisitions that the acquired business be allowed to carry on for a bit, but slowly their branding and processes start to be absorbed into the mother ship.

Within another year or two I predict SC content will be folded in to Men.com and the site will eventually be gone altogether.

AFAIK, that's maybe true. When MG bought SC, they had all paperwork, including model release forms. But not all the release forms were there. The former owner has been running SC for 12 years before he sold SC to MG. It's hard to keep everything organized for such a long period. Some of release forms got lost for careless mistakes or unknown reasons. Just like you clean the house, you find something missing.

MG removed the scenes featuring the models without release forms after pornhub drama happened last year. They are very careful now. Anything that may trigger legal issues will be cut out in advance. They can still restore those scenes if they can have models sign a new release form. But I doubt former models will do them the favor. Some of them already regret their porno background. Some of them may ask to get paid for signing a new release form. Either way, it's not worth the hassle for MG to do it, so they simply removed the scenes as the final solution.
