A few nights ago, I was having dinner with some friends, all str8, and we were talking about our sexual adventures. As far as how common, I think the sexual scarcity of the average man inflates this figure, because I do believe a lot of it is men attempting to secure/retain mates by offering above and beyond what most men would naturally. I think for sexually successful men you may see this slightly more because they need something to up the stakes, but I also think a lot of men whom otherwise aren't sexually successful will compromise and find a way to reconcile enjoyment from the freedom she seeks.
