It's unfortunate that so many guys are intimidated by that attitude. If we could cultivate a sense of appreciation and support among guys, esp encouragement and camaraderie between the more study and the less, the world would be a better place.
There were a couple of guys who saw themselves as alpha types at my gym (in their 30s). They and some of the other regulars would shower with curtains open. One day, I heard one ask who was behind the curtain when I was showering. They were suspect of anyone knew infringing on their rituals. After that, I decided to shower with open curtain as well -- I grew up in open showers -- so it was no big whoop -- but I could tell if freak out the so-called alphas. While most of the regulars didn't seem to notice or care -- or took the alphas a long time before they got somewhat comfortable around the 'new guy'.

I agree with @opinionman and @Alex Sommers. Further, alpha males don't really exist in human form. We may refer to certain social traits as "alpha" but this has its root in an obsession with hyper-masculine behaviors to mask the fragility of masculinity itself. This is bred from the overwhelming value that is placed on individualism and maintaining artificial social hierarchies versus promoting social equity in a community-minded society.
It’s not just hockey players bro. Whenever I’m around my college baseball teammates no matter where we are somebody is getting naked. We’re all very comfortable with it and it’s usually more funny than anything. Nobody gives a shit. And there were plenty of big dicked alpha males to go around in that baseball locker room back in college.
This. All of this. Just try to be comfortable with what you were given and go about your business. Took me a while to get comfortable in my own skin, but it is so freeing when you just say “f*** it” and go about your business like it is no big deal.

I can see your points and agreed with you on this. I think the situation/location is key. If everyone is naked, I'd be fully comfortable being naked along, however, when there is a mixed like locker room settings. It's gives a different vibe.
At that point, it is about becoming comfortable and slowly dropping your guard (or in this case, towel).
What I did was start just getting comfortable showering nude. Then it would be walking too the shower with my towel in hand. Once comfortable with that, it was walking back to the locker while drying off, etc. The piece de resistance for me was finally getting comfortable walking to/from abs sitting in the whirlpool nude.
You may also find that others follow your vibe once you get comfortable. It’s no big deal if you give off the vibe that it is no big deal.
And I am saying this as a guy with just an average dick size (at best).

I've no issues with being fully nude when others are, it felt good and so free when I attended Korean spa. I did had some self-conscious at first, but quickly overcame that on my subsequent visits. It's a place that you would feel out of place if you're not fully nude. But in gym locker room - guys aren't all in the same.
How is the gym locker room different from the Korean spa? I’ve done both and they feel the same to me.
I'd say framing (most people know / expect Korean spa will be full nudity, they may feel the expectation or 'permision' to be nude), and rules (every Korean spa I've been to actually says on their rules you must be naked, except I'm mixed gender and open areas. Don't know if that's a universal rule though)

It's a locker room, it's supposed to be a safe space for us, why are we slapping labels left, right and center, creating hierarchy were there's none, all this talk about alphas and betas, I mean, come on, are we seriously accepting as normal this fragile masculinity bullshit.

Some days ago I underwent surgery, with general anesthesia. The same day and the same operation it was me and another man, in his mid '20s.
So, we were both escorted to the room where they asked us to undress and wear the robes. It was not clear to us if we have to undress completely or if we could keep our underwear on, but it seemed clear to me that sooner or later we had to take it off.
The other man, before undressing, closed the door of the room, which appeared silly to me as the only other persons which could see us naked were the surgeons or the nurses.
Then, he asked me what to do with the underwear, I simply took them out, I really didn't see the point to keep them for the short walk between our room and the surgery.
He briefly looked at me naked, he felt a lot of embarrassment so he moved his eyes to look somewhere else, clearly asking himself if he has to do the same, I continued to talk to him as there was nothing strange or particular that was happening, because for me it was that. A female nurse entered, briefly looked at me, and saved him from further discomfort, as she instructed me to put the underwear on again.
I was the first to undergone surgery, so I reached the operating room, I laid on the table and another female nurse helped me in taking my underwear off. But my dick was covered by the robe, so in their minds it was more respectful of my privacy. I told her that I could have taken my underwear off in the first room.
When they moved me back in the day surgery room, a male nurse put my underwear back on and some time later the other man arrive, and did the same to him.
Really, I cannot fathom to understand why a man, in his mid '20s, with a girlfriend, could even be embarrassed of being shortly naked with another man, in such a special occasion.
And the hospital set up this complex ballet because clearly many of its patients were worried of being naked in front of the surgeons and the nurses. I am unconscious, if something goes wrong I dye, so I have total trust in them, and I worry that they see my dick and my ass?

I can understand not wanting to be naked for a long period of time before surgery, but once you are under -- who cares? Physicians and nurses in O.R. are used to seeing people naked in these situations. Anyone having an operation is just another naked body -- it's not an erotic situation by any means.
But to someone who never had to be naked (ever) in front of someone other than a lover, I guess it can be stressful. Thankfully, I'm from a generation there were many places where one got naked in front of others (my age and other ages) -- starting with the beach changing room (they are probalby all private these days), YMCA, junior high gym class, college showers, gym showers (when showers were communal).

Speaking as a Brit, we are a little bit more conservative than some other European nations however I have always found locker rooms etc to be the exception, with many guys enjoying nudity. Personally I prefer to be naked throughout the changing process as much as possible and also always look for hotels etc when travelling that are more open to nudity or male contact.
Today after my workout, there was a 20-something I haven't seen since before Covid in the LR -- in a towel. I'm usually more for the daddy types, but this guy as a great physique -- and is a little quirky and fun to talk with.
I don't know if he realized I was behind him or not, but when his towel dropped a bit -- I could see he was in is underwear. Then he pulled down his briefs -- and removed the towel at the same time. I love when guys do this, but I don't really see the point. After he put on a new pair, he turned around and we caught up a bit. Always nice to get a surprise like this!

And how do you determine if a hotel is "more open to nudity"?
Good locker room facilities, ideally male only, open plan showers etc.
