Chapter 1: Night in Manhattan

It was just another night in Manhattan, where glitz and glamour ruled the skyline and hot men filled the air with excitement. Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte reveled in the celebration of their careers, toasting to friendships and the sheer fabulousness of it all. Laughter echoed through the chic lounge, their conversations weaving through the clinking of glasses and pulsating beats.

As dawn approached, the quartet decided it was time to call it a night. They stepped outside, the cool air brushing against their skin, and hailed a cab that would take them home. The streets were eerily empty, the city that never sleeps beginning to wind down.

Suddenly, the cab driver noticed a figure sprawled on the ground. He stopped, concern etching his face as he stepped out to check on the man. Just as he bent down, the seemingly crazed man lunged, a wild look in his eyes. Before the driver could react, the man attacked, revealing himself as a grotesque creature that fed on flesh. With each bite, the creature’s curse spread, turning anyone it feasted on into a mindless being within seconds, ravenous for the flesh of others.

Inside the cab, the girls had no idea that their glamorous night was about to take a dark turn. As the cab sped past the scene, Miranda turned to the others, her voice laced with disbelief. “What was that? It looked like some sort of ghoul!”

The city was on the brink of a transformation that none of them could foresee.

Panic surged through Miranda as she realized the danger looming outside. Without a second thought, she leaped into the driver’s seat, her heart racing. “Buckle up!” she shouted, her hands gripping the wheel tightly as she revved the engine. The girls exchanged startled glances but quickly complied, adrenaline kicking in.

Miranda slammed the gas pedal, the cab surging forward as they sped away from the chaos. She navigated the empty streets, weaving through alleys, determined to escape the looming threat. “We need to get to New Jersey!” she declared, her voice steady despite the fear coursing through her.

As they crossed the bridge, the skyline of Manhattan faded behind them, replaced by the unfamiliar terrain of New Jersey. The quiet streets felt like a temporary reprieve, but Miranda knew they couldn’t let their guard down. “What if those things come after us?” Charlotte asked, her voice trembling.

“Then we fight back,” Miranda replied, glancing at the rearview mirror, scanning for any signs of danger. The ultimate challenge awaited them, and the city they once adored now felt like a distant memory.
